SOIL Defoliation

Hey all, I am about to proceed to defoliation and wish to know what are best conditions to do so. Should I do it just after watering? Should I do at light-turn-on or middle of the day? Any advise is appreciated as this is my first time reaching that step. GWE gives good instruction on how to do it, but I am missing on these questions. Cheers!
 
JCD I do mine cause my lights go on at 0630a.m. I wait till when i want to do it LOL so no there's no set time and how old is the plant? I do let them wake up real good though not first thing.
