HELP! Deficiencies - not sure what they are

New member
I have various issues with each of my plants. I need to water and wanted to know whats going on so i can use the correct nutes.
I first noticed the yellow and brown spots about 3 days ago and just noticed the lime color today.

1) Lime green at top & Yellowing at bottom leaf with brown spot. image in the post
2) Some yellowing at bottom and a little bit of leaf claw image with 2 red squares the top of this plant is due to FIM fuckup.... FIMFU
3) Lime top and a little bit of leaf claw pic with 2 blue circles
4) Lime top and a little bit of leaf claw and yellowing at lower

I spent all morning reading about deficiencies and believe its mostly Nitrogen deficiency, but i know clawing is too much nitrogen so I am confused.
The soil is Fox Farms light warrior for the starter part then then the remaining top is ocean forest mixed with happy frog and at the bottom fox farms strawberry fields
They are in 5th week of Veg and I have a visosun vs 1000 led on 50% power, the light was about 1 1/2 to 2 inches above the top of the plants, i just moved it to 6 in

I have Fox farms Grow big, Big bloom, Tiger bloom, Cal mag & Humboldts secret Cal mag & Iron nutes

Lime green on new growth is the norm.

Your soil looks at tad hot. Plenty of N.

Pic 2 showing dark green new growth and twisting is probably either N toxicity or light burn or a combination of both.

Get you light backed off, do less than ideal to sort out the other issues. Try for around 450PPFD and once your nute issues are sorted ramp back up slowly to 700 to 750 ready for the flip.

You don't say what nutes you are giving it or current quantities either. Being in soil I'd give it just plain old water next feed or even a flush because I suspect you may have over done it.

thank you!
I’ve only fed 1/4 tsp of grow big per gallon each feeding.

do you have any suggestions on how to flush with grow bags. I did once but most of the water ran out the sides.

Also on pffd how do you measure, I have a lux meter

You use a converter for the lux to ppfd, close enough or download a meter onto your phone and calibrate it.

I don't use fabric bags sorry.

What those people said, and...
Flushing is flushing wherever the water comes out. A way to help keep so much out the side is to water slowly and stay a couple inches away from the side of your bags. Water half what you expect to give. Wait five minutes, then give the second half.
The lower leaves are a lost cause. They are old and you can often expect that to happen to the lowest leaves. You can leave them and watch what happens for the experience or pluck them, so you don't have to look at them.
How did you start your seeds in the (peat?) pots? Was it a mix of fresh and spent soil sort of thing or straight fresh soil? How long ago was the transplant?
You never mentioned your pH.
What does the light manufacturer say about height distances? Sounds to me like you are very close, even at 50% and I can't figure out why you would have those plants at only 50%.

I put seeds in rapid rooters
3 gallon bags, bottom 50% fox farms strawberry fiields,
nest half 50/50 happy frog and ocean forest with about 10% worm castings. I made a solo cup size spot with fox farms light warrior and put the rapid rooters in the light warrior so no transplant
ph 6.1 watering 2 weeks ago this week 6.3ph water
the light is viosun vs1000. The reason the light is at 50% is cause I can only grow 6 at a time in flower and I have to wait for flowers to finish so keeping them short and hopefully bushy for now, in about 2 or 3 weeks will start dialing up the light.

manufacturer recommendations

at 50% power can vary depending on the distance from the canopy. Here are some approximate values based on typical usage:
  • At 12 inches: Around 400-500 μmol/m²/s
  • At 18 inches: Around 300-400 μmol/m²/s
  • At 24 inches: Around 200-300 μmol/m²/s
the vs is 10 inches now I moved it up from 6
I also have a t5 in the tent and now thinking maybe the that light out r Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_4448.jpg Views:	0 Size:	2.66 MB ID:	636496 ight now the light is 4500 lux at plant height
thanks!!

The info you are giving sounds spot on. The mild possible N-tox probably doesn't need a flush. Maybe just skip a feeding and opt for plain, pH'd water.
I'm understanding you are keeping the light dim and low to encourage bushy growth. Yes?
I grow in coco so this is a question. The question might be for others who are reading, maybe you know. With all those nutrients, is Cal-Mag necessary and are two types(?) of Cal-Mag necessary?

Adding calmag now will add to the excess N so the OP would be best just to give water for at least a couple of feeds if not flushing.

Giving those plants light so intense will cause leaf problems no matter what. Move the light up a few more inches to maybe 15" and just give water next couple of feeds and bring the light intensity up slowly keeping a good distance from the canopy.

Those plants really shouldn't need any additional nutes for some weeks.

Monitor it clisely

10-4. I knew CalMag helps with nutrient uptake, just wasn't sure about nitrogen, specifically. I also didn't realize it was important in premix what with all the biomicronisms, and such.

Most "calmags" are something like calcium NITRATE and magnesium NITRATE which will be about a 40% or so make-up of N.

I learnt that the hard way without reading the label...duh!

reason for cal mag is hard to over on them and so i add on occasion, i have 2 diff cal mags but only use one at a time, Humbolt has other stuff so tend to use that.

the reason for low light is to keep light low so they dont stretch , i just moved plants around so the tall ones are under the t5 , also lowered the light to 25% today cause looking like light stress on the tall ones
