would there be any benefit to decarboxylating weed before making dry ice hash?

Unless you plan on eating the hash the answer is no.
when you add heat to the hash to smoke it you de-carb it

Howdy dang,decarboxylation before extracting the resins from the plant matter might reduce the yield but fusing or melting the trichomes into larger clumps not allowing the to pass thru the finer screens. I have not tried doing the decarb before extracting, but it might work ok. I think that if You used a solvent, ti would not matter.
