Dead Leaves and Top Dressing?

Hi all,

I have two questions.

1) When leaves die and fall off should I remove them or let them stay and mix?

2) I've seen mention of something called top dressing. Has anyone heard of this here and used it for growing?

Thanks :)

Hey durtvandutch good questions - Unwanted - Dead or Alive - green or brown don't let them mix into your medium. As for top dressing, not too sure, I imagine you could leave some kind of compost on top - maybe some kind of tea mixture- as in bird guano, worm casings and the like - probably anything that you would want to mix into the medium would work.
Do I top dress? - No -

Top dressing is fertilizing by working dry powders like lime or NPK fertilizer into (or just on top of) the soil. Cannabis grows from seed to harvest so fast that I don't think top dressing is a good choice since the nutrient don't have a lot of time to work their way down to the roots. Applying liquids is faster and works better.

Yeah, get rid of the leaves, if only to keep things looking pretty. ;)
