I search my plants about 10 times a day looking for bud borers and other little nasties. I find several everyday but I find many places where they are gone already leaving some damage but not much compared to what I have seen they can do. I think something is killing them before I can. Found one this morning buried in a bud and already dead. Looks like it is sucked or chewed to death. Got a feeling it is the tiny wasps I see all over the plants. Whatever they are I feel very lucky to have them. Also my plants soils are full of tiny Rove beetles and they seem to be doing a good job on the root aphids. There has never been any farming in my area just cattle til about 25 years ago. I never have used insecticides on my place. I think this is why I have so may beneficial insects around.
