The general consensus seems to be that the suppliers go from when flowers start showing. I think it's kind of split on when the growers count from, either flowers showing or switch to 12/12. Personally I prefer from the switch because it's a time open to no interpretation. Then I just keep notes on the strains I grow and how long it is to harvest the strain for my set-up.
