Dark spots on young plant, can't figure out what's causing it.

Got my delivery today.

A new bag of soil (it' supposed to be good, but I don't really know. Was the only kind I could find from a known brand).
And some new nutes, including worm castings (which is supposed to be superb for root development), and some propper pH down.

So I'll germinate a new seed today, and use the new soil and all for that one. I will start it of in a lighter mix (seedling mix from the local store), and then move it over to the Growmix after a week or two.
This mix is supposed to be pre mixed with Perlite and all, so it should be better. The only thing worrying me is that it's also already fertilized, so hopefully it won't burn the little plant when I move it.
Time will show.

Does any of you have any experience with these brands? GHE is supposed to be really good right?

Yeah thats good stuff, that Plagron ,I've never used it before, but it should not be to hot for seedlings, I wouldn't think, I think it will be all your seedlings need for the first 2-3weeks, then you start feeding regularly.
I always run a little water, thru my soil, if it's the first time or two I've used it, just to get an idea of what the runoff ph is.
If your ph is out to start with, it's kinda hard to grow a decent plant.

I agree with 69. From the first pic. my thoughts were repot in 3 or 5 gal. fiber pot with fresh soil, with a bunch of added perlite. Hoist the dry pot of soil & make a mental note of the weight dry. Let her dry some before you repot to help shake off old soil. Water to runoff with ph'd water & cal-mag and give her a week.

Today I chopped the sad lady. Almost every single leaf (and I'm not exaggerating either), almost 100% of all the leaves were black and crispy. Even the crowns and all the new growth as well, were black and dead.

I just didn't feel like having to fight with these issues every single day for the rest of the grow and flowering. I believe the soil was bad, and with my absent minded mistakes making it so much worse.
I've been ill for quite some time now, and I'm just starting to gather my strength again. So I can't have this extra source of stress and anxiety in my life. It felt really bad. Like a lighter version of the feeling you have when you have to put an animal down. Morbid to say the least.

Anyways.. I placed another seed between two sheets of paper towel 2 days ago, and it had developed a nice little tap root today after lunch.
So I mixed up some water, pH-down and BioWorm (finished product were about 6,5) and placed the seed in a tiny pot with Plagron Growmix, and a thin layer of Leca (expanded clay balls, washed and all) in the bottom of the pot.

My first thought were that this soil would be too hot. But after a quick search on this forum I found this guy, who actually grew weed from seed inside a night stand with 3-4 x 34W CFL bulbs (super low budget stuff), and he used Plagron Growmix from day one. And the plant looked amazing all the way! He didn't totally finish his log, but the last few pictures looked absolutely amazing for such a simple and cheap setup.

So I just went for it. The soils had about 1 - 1,5 EC, and is perfectly mixed with sand and Perlite. Smells perfect and just looks like a quality product. So I'm looking forward to this.
And I've learned my lesson; don't grow weed if you're not 100% invested in the project. Then you'll just have a bad time/bad harvest.

The problem now is that I'm running out of seeds. So I'll have to order some new ones soon.
I have som BTC, so I only need to figure out what strain I'm buying. But I'll make a new thread about this, so you guys can participate there.

Cocho ,I sure hope that you get to feeling much better, soon.
And good luck with your new grow, I think that Plagron, has enough nutrients in it to last 2-3weeks, before you have to start feeding.

This time around it will go much better. I can just tell, by feeling this soil between my fingers, that this is a superior soil compared to the local stuff I've used the last few times.

Planning on moving next year, (back out to the country side) and then I want to make myself a compost container and make my own super soil with worms and micro organisms for all them healthy vitamins and super minerals. Without all the additives, and much much cheaper in the long run.

Used to just go out in the pile behind the garage and dig for a chunk of godlike soil (same as the one we used for the potatoes and tomatoes in the green house), but now I'm living in the "big city" and can't do that anymore. But this Plagron soil is promising!
