Let's see if I got this right, u take your buds soak in drinking alcohol over 100% proof drain and discard,than put liquid in a pot and slowly heat till all liquid has evaporated and your left with a thick stickie substance to dab with. Is that about the size of it? Have any of u fine folks tried this???? If so I sure would like to hear from u as I don't want to waste any bud doing it incorrectly. As always all responses are met with gradatude thanks.

This is what I've come up with after resurching ,was hoping for someone with practical knowledge to stop by and reassure me.
 
Hey guys I can clear this for you. What you are talking about with the alcohol is called rick Simpson oil. You should use ever clear 190 prof = 95% alcohol. And then evaporate alcohol with a rice maker. The end result IS NOT FOR DABBING (I guess you could but you loose flavor "cooking it"). It is a decarbed ready to eat oil. RSO is infested in doses 1/10 of a gram.
What you want is either butane hash oil (wax shatter) or rosin pressed resin. A quick google search can give you exact instructions now that you know what you want

EverClear + ground flower in a sandwich bag. Let soak some hours or over night. Squeeze and strain into a Teflon container. Let evaporate. I use a spot light about 12" above.
I usually tilt the rectangular Teflon thing so the goo accumulates in the corner. The goo looks like tar to me. The alcohol dissolves much more than just THC.
Dab away.

I also save the soaked flower and do it two or so times, adding some fresh.

If you use flower that has been decarb'd, you can drink the resulting Green Dragon, no need to dab or smoke. Be careful about dosage.
 
He's talking decarb to make a drink. There is no discution about this stuff. This methods are tried and proven for many years now there is no more debate really
 
The Green Dragon I mention is something I read about on a UK Forum a year or so ago.

Cook the flower, soak in EverClear, strain, drink. You will be lucky to wake up day after tomorrow is you don't watch out.

As for flavor, you can dilute to taste and add to any other breverage. The Dragon juice is best measured in milliliters. For my needs 3-5 mls made from well raised and handled flower will put you away.
 
You can use vegetable glycerin or coconut oil. Different process, but same effect.
Heat required, which is the nice part about the EverClear. No heat for extraction.
With heat, butter, lard, cooking oil, etc works. Without high alcohol, that is what I would suggest.

A couple years ago I decided on bho and now I got my tube and my teflon ready to blast as soon as I buy butane, I'm not into edibles. Either I don't feel anything or I fall asleep
 
For dabs I :;
freeze buds over night to freeze trichomes
the next morning I wash for 20 seconds with the high proof alcohol then strain through a fine strainer and coffee filter and re freeze the tinted liquid to winterise for 48hours, this will freeze fats and anything else that you don't want. With the winterised infusion I pour onto a shallow glass tray and let it evaporate naturally over 24/36 hours with a muslin cloth pegged around the edges to stop anything getting to your concentrate. You can use a fan to speed up the process. You should be left with a white looking substance on your tray, I scrape this up and onto baking paper and fold all the bits into a solid piece. I then freeze the folded paper with concentrate in again for 24hours and do a final purge on the glass tray again to clear of any residuals.
by following this method I have made myself my high strength dabbing concentrates for a couple of years now. Kief is you best bet to start with IMHO...
 
Cool process, Jakey. But I doubt I would go though all that. Initial freezing is something I'll try. I don't use any paper or textile filters as they absorb too much alcohol. I use a very fine metal strainer, put the wet flower in that, let it drain, then a press on it for further remove alcohol. No absorption at all.
I bet you do get some pretty potent stuff
I accidentally discovered a batch that was very good for low back pain. I have a decades old injury that kicks up every so often. Nearly incapacitating. A couple of dabs of that tar and surprisingly there was significant pain reduction. And couch lock. Snore, snore.

This is what I use to filter. So yeah, I'm going to get very fine ground flower matter. But I don't lose any liquid to paper or textile absorption. I drain into a glass cup, then pour into the Teflon container, same as I use for BHO. Tilt so it concentrates in the corner.
Ace Hardware kitchen section. I think they call it a tea strainer.
