Curly discoloured leaves, extremely slow growth

Hi everyone. New grower here. My 3 weeks old Cannabis Sativa Carmagnola (CBD industrial hemp) has been sufferring from slow growth pretty much from the beginning. It is 3 weeks old, 1.7 inch tall, its largest leave span is 3 inches and I believe it should be much larger by now. 2 days ago the lowest leaves and the second node leaves (the largest ones) started curling up and became discoloured a bit. Im growing it in forest soil mixed with perlite. I water it every 2-3 days to avoid overwatering. Can someone assist with some ideas as to what could be the problem? Im thinking of nitrogen deficiency. Thanks inadvance!

Hey mate, are they outdoor grow? I think they grow pretty slow for the first few weeks while they getting their roots established and stem thick enough to start really transporting goodness and supporting new growth., that aside when you water them do you have run off into those bowls that the pots sit in for a period of time? If so I'd tip the run off out straight away to avoid a soggy bottom in the pot... Also there shouldn't be any deficiencies at this stage especially using the growing medium that you are, if anything I'd say might be a bit on the side of nutrient burn,. but others might have a better idea. 🤙🏾
 
Hello Hempgrow3r can you give us a few more details about your grow? What are you trying to accomplish? Is that your plants final home? Have you looked at the tab Plant Problems at the top of this page? If not, there’s some good info there that will help you. That plant looks like it could be overwatered. It’s very easy to do. If you’re not maintaining proper PH for soil you also could have nutrient lockout.
 
Thanks for your reply. Yes, the large leaves definitely seem to be showing signs of phosphorous deficiency. I keep the ph between 6.0 and 7.0 usually.
 
Thanks for your input and your idea on the runoff. I always get rid of the runoff water, so that the plant is not sitting in water all the time. It might be nutrient burn, not sure. I think I will transplant it into a larger container with more soil and perlite.
 
Thanks for your input. Yes, I have checked the guide on various problems, however, my curly leaves do not seem to be drooping (overwatering) and I only water it every second day. it seems to be having some deficiency instead or toxicity. I usually keep the ph between 6.0 and 7.0 but will take extra care for it in the future. Thanks again for your ideas.
