I'm using ocean forest soil without adding nutrients, 600w hid light setup, looking good so far, switched to 12-12 4 days ago with 2 plants, wondering if it will be good ! Would like opinions please
Hi,
I don't understand, what's the question exactly? If you're going to need to add nutrients? Or if the grow in general will go well? If you did your research (seem you did) before you bought the setup and all, you must know it'll work no. You don't buy a setup you know won't work, or if you're unsure of what you're doing, isn't it?
Generally talking, well you will see by yourself. So far so good, its a bit like that guy jumping from the top floor... When something will happen you will learn how to deal with it that's experience!
About nutrients... It would be good to give us the concentration in NPK of your soil. But my guess is you might have to add some nutrients.
First things first. Sounds like your all good except you should really consider getting a way to measure ph. Its the #1 reason for problems. Keep it between 6-7 and you'll save yourself from a lot of trouble down the road
9 is right, you really need to check/keep ph in acceptable range first. I also grow with FFOF and don't add nutrients for the first few weeks as the soil has enough to keep plants healthy. With that said I would start adding some flowering nutrients but gradually work up to recommended doses. When just the very tips of my leaves show nutrient burn I know I am giving her all she can handle. And by tips I mean no more than 1/8 of an inch. More is not better with nutrients.
Hello Pudsolo , Couple old friends came by today an we were sitting around getting high and I showed them your question about nutrients and they reminded me that for a bunch of years we never added nutrients to our plants and they made some fine bud using nothing but water. But we were growing in the Mississippi Delta region which is supposedly if not the richest, one of the richest soils in the USA. But in FFOF soil I'm pretty sure your gonna need some. Sorry for rambling on.
