Curing temps

right now it's 72 inside the jar with 65% humidity will the temperature affect anything? I know it's supposed to be between 60 and 70
 
You still burping the jars? Humidity closer to 60% is best but temps are fine. I cure mine in a wardrobe at around 70F
 
kyle I used to smoke cigars when I did they had these humidor meters that told temp and the degree of humidity I put them in my curing/storage jars to there is no guesswork
 
I just put them in the jars last night but I was just concerned about it being 2 degrees over the 70 mark. I was wondering if it would have any adverse/ bad effects
 
Any higher than 75degrees inside the jar and u will start burning away the terps (smell and flavor) also keep ur jars out of the direct sunlight as the light will slowly break them down as well
 
The main thing to watch out for when cureing is mold so make sure to take all ur bud outa the jar once a day and put it back in, I find this is a more effective way to get new air to all the buds. Some people just open the lid and shake the jar. This works but I find the other way is better because then u can feel and inspect ur buds :)
 
I am indeed using b62 packs! I heard about them on here and grabbed some. Also ordered some digital hygrometer caps for my mason jars each day I will also take the buds out and put them back in.
 
I'm a couple weeks away from harvesting (four varieties, which will probably mature at different times). Since you have a thread going on the topic, I'd like to mention a really excellent T/RH meter which I just purchased on Amazon. Don't have time at the moment to take pictures, but just search for the 'Tacklife HM01'. Strange name, good design. it's affordable ($20), but more than that it is ACCURATE and has an attached probe which can reach into jars or bags. Look at the picture and you will see what I mean. The only thing I can fault it for is that it always starts up in degrees C, so you may need to switch it into degrees F.

In my former life as an engineer, I designed a few instruments which needed to compensate for temperature and/or humidity. The best sensor element turns out to be from a company called 'Sensirion', and is identified as an 'SHTxxx' chip (xxx is specific version info). This meter is based on that chip, and it is very accurate and quick to respond. The other monitor I saw which uses this sensor is a wall-mounted unit: AcuRite 01083M priced at $15. If you wind up buying an instrument for this job, consider these two. Tried a cheaper one before and it simply was not accurate.
