First grow ever....I'm ready to harvest tomorrow so these questions are way late lol butt.... 1. I have a led light with veg and flower buttons. When I'm in flower should I ONLY have on the flower button (red lights) or should I have them both (the blue white,AND red)? 2. What happens if there are light leaks into my water reservoir? There's no light leaks in the flower room but there is in the veg room (I'm only talking about the water bucket not the room)?
 
Light leaks in the reservoir can cause algae, increase culture temperature, and affect your good biologicals, depending how severe the leak is. If you haven't had a problem and are vegging now you can address it next turn. If you have had problems and are in veg I would do what I could to minimize the leaks then next turn address it fully.

When it comes to led there are several theories. Information that I have got from commercial growers is that the just the red spectrum is not enough. One grower in particular put it to me like this " think about the sun in the fall, tho it is more orange (meaning red spectrum) there is still plenty of white (3700k-5000k the in between of red and blue spectrum) that the plant uses. Personally if I were using led I would use both veg and fruit settings. That's just me.
 
Light leaks in the res will cause slim mold bad bacteria alge ect all bad things ur obveously growing photos so u only want the bloom light on or the plant will still think it's spring/ summer not fall when they need to bloom it may not hurt but I wouldn't take the chance of confuseing the female to turn into a hermie. It might not do it but it's something to think about. as u know 12/12 in flower make sure there's zero light leak of it will forsure turn into a hermie maybe not the 1st time but it wount forgive much.
 
I pefer to grow autos for that reason plus I dnt have space for monster plants if ur not veging for more than 2 months it's worth it to grow autos. Each strain is different but they can average 1.5x1.5 by 3feet tall roughly when fully grown they can get bigger depending on the strain but that's the size all mine get to be
 
As an LED grower myself. (Maxsisun 300w Dimmable LED) I like to wake up the plants with the red spectrum, after 30min to an hour I'll turn up the blue and one hour before the lights are off I'll put them back to sleep with the red spectrum again. They love both spectrums in flowering, but they react well when I've gone this route, it helps simulate sunrise and sunset to the best of the lights ability.

As far as the reservoir light leak, I'm with the previous comments, algae will prevail. Same with any tubes you have that are clear as well. Blackout everything you can. Good luck and happy growing
 
All depends on the strain in 6 weeks ill let u know what u get off a blueberry auto grown in soil. Dwc and soil will produce different amount and how u grow, if u have a lot of problems u get less yeild
 
I'm curious how long can you/do you prefer to veg your autos? Or do you run 24 on for the entire cycle? What's your take?
 
U can't controll the veg time of autos they will automaticly turn into flower once the plant gets to a certain age/ size and yes I run my lights 24/0 from seed to harvest if I ever notice light stress I move my lights up higher and put them on 18/6 for light for 2days then back to 24/0
 
All strains are different because of there genetic codes but there's guidlines for them. One thing to take into account is, seed banks say seed to harvest in a certain amount of time ( say 10weeks) that's in optimal condistions/ preferences. Some people like to harvest at first signs of milky tris and some people wait till theres 70 percent or more amber tris.
 
As far as the light spectrum go's, it's a great theory. Iv never tryed it myself so I can't comment on it, but if it works right on keep it up lol
