Could use some help with LST / timing the flip

I was originally planning on staying short and flipping this weekend or next, but now I have a scheduling conflict. I don't know that they will actually be ready to chop in 8 weeks, but I had a few (reddit) growers swear that theirs were and I would prefer to hold off until I can be sure that harvest will be after my trip and maybe a recovery weekend.

Currently thinking two or three more weeks, but I'm not sure I can contain them. I would appreciate any advice on timing, LST, or anything else you notice that I'm missing or hosing up.
If left out any pertinent info, please let me know. Thanks in advance for any guidance (did I mention I love this site?)

2 - (Sensible Seeds) C99s in coco and perlite with 1/2 strength FF (core 3) nutes + CalMag every other watering
2x2.5x5.5 grow tent with 8-42w CFL bulbs (4-2700, 4-6500) with small fan

we're in the midst of a ridiculous heat wave but holding steady at 79-82 with lights on and 72-74 when off.

today is day 47 from planting and 29th day of veg - potted up to 4ga smart pots on Monday

no pH issues that I am aware of; runoff has been within acceptable tolerances and I have been varying the pH when I water.

I let them hit 6 nodes and then topped to 3. I have been doing LST and some minor defoliation, mostly just large fan leaves casting shadows or blocking airflow.

Bebe is in white and Kit-Kat in black

It sounds like you just want to slow the growth a bit while waiting to switch to flowering phase so that they don't get too big during flower for the space you have? You are already doing a great job with training with a flat canopy. The only thing I can think of is to turn down the lights a bit and no nutes for a little while and that should limit growth while you wait for the switch to flower.

Thanks for checking them out - I really appreciate the feedback.

I'm not opposed to bigger plants (or bigger yields) but I'm not sure where to draw the line. This is my first grow, so I was planning on keeping them about this size while I figured out what the hell I was doing.

Until I can get an extension for my tent, I only have about 2' of vertical space to play with before shit gets real.

is that a chow chow?

They look great, pythia. Go back and look at the heights for indoor growing that each brand includes with the other information like THC content, etc. That should let you know how much stretch to expect.

Thank you! I'm fairly obsessed with them. Sensible's website says matures in 4 weeks from seed and hits 31-39 inches, which is pretty much my limit height-wise. Regarding the flowering stretch - lets says she doubles, is that double the height above the coco, or double the length of the stems (so including height redirected laterally)?

Well I have a monster sativa that I did LST with and while she did reach the top of my grow box, I continue ti gently tie down the tips. And the obsession come with the glorious hobby of growing cannabis!!! :-}

That's right, pythia, in this rodeo, we ride the BIG BULLS!!!!! Wait: does that metaphor make any sense whatsoever????????

I may need to call in the clowns before this is over
thinking about dusting off my pipe cutter and building a small screen, but are 4 gallon pots are big enough to finish in, you think?
