Could the seeds be autoflower?

I have 4 indica hybrids that will begin the 3rd week of 12/12 bloom cycle tomorrow. There are no indication of sex so far and it appear the the plants are continuing to develop all of the bud site after pruning. The room is completely dark in a tent and the plants do not appear to be responding to the time change. I haven't any knowledge of the seeds habits because the seeds were mongered from buds purchased at my dispensary, I live in California. I'm thinking that an autoflower would be used in a medicinal grow and these seeds may be autoflower because light cycle doesn't seem to be affecting growth even with nutrient change for blooming so the plant will bloom when it's ready to or am I still to early in the flowering cycle? Any ideas would be appreciated. :)

I've read a lot on autoflower and from my understanding you can't stop them from flowering when they're ready without killing them. and yours are looking good, think u might just be early. must be scary exciting to pop question mark beans!
 
Thanks for your response and I'm glad you feel I'm early in the cycle. :) It is very exciting and a lot of fun. But it's my first grow and I want buds to learn. I lucked out and found a few seeds from my preferred selection and I want to know what I'm doing to have my best chance. That plant will be my mother plant for cloning. More questions then answers right now too.
 
Auto's in my experience begin to flower after 2 or three weeks. It is not dependant on light / dark to switch to flowering. You said this is week 3 of 12/12? How long were they on a vegetative light schedule? Typically after approximately 3 weeks from sprout is when you should start seeing signs of sex on a normal plant. Auto's are slightly sooner in my experience. If it was an auto you should be seeing some pistols after 3-4 weeks from sprout. I dont know if this helps
 
Than you for your response, seedlings at November 14th- until Dec. 13th is 4-5 wks. veg. cycle. Started the blooming cycle 2 wks ago and tomorrow starts the 3rd week. Maximum 8 wks. and plants are still developing buds but The veg. growth may have slowed down because plants have grown about an inch in height since the bloom cycle started 2 wks. ago.
 
I do think if it was an auto you would be seeing bud growth by now. Now is a good time to take clones though. I am betting on them being photoperiod plants and you will start seeing preflowers very soon.

What do you think of auto-grow varieties. It does take the lighting issues out of the equation and if the potency of the buds aren't effected then I'd would prefer it.
 
I have a bunch of auto seeds I'm just itching to get started. There are several great auto growers here on forum rockman being one of them, and Green75 has been experimenting with topping and defoliating autos with great success. More and more growers are going that route. Generally, not as big a harvest from an auto, but the trade off is harvest up to a month sooner.

As for auto varieties available, there are dozens plus to choose from.
 
Hi! Autos are great for people like me that want to keep it simple. No thoughts about light except how much can I throw at them with my CFL fixtures surrounding the plant (100 equivalent watt bulbs each)...and they get as much as they want on a 22/2 light schedule.
Potency is a bit subjective....for me all the autos I've grown have really satisfied! 😊 Can't say if you might expect more. I would heartedly recommended them to anyone new to growing....just to get their feet wet.🌿
 
Thanks for the good information. There are so many option now, nothing like the few times I tried as a youngster. Should I have gone LED, why concern myself with dark/light requirements just grow like a houseplant now that Rudialis has been successfully hybridized. I think I unknowingly grew one in a pot from a seed I obtain mongering through buds from a dispensary. Threw it in a pot and left it on the window sill. I didn't understand why I had buds in about 60 days, now I do. :)
 
I'll be getting a few started in March or April. I have several high CBD strains that I am very anxious to get going. And some auto White Widow for the hubs.
