Container sizes for autos

Good Morning PuravidaC, they should be doing fine in a day or two, maybe still rushing a little bit. I would do exactly like you did except I'd raise my 315 to about 22-24 inches away, an then just stay away from looking at them, that's like watching a red tomato get ripe, the more you watch the red tomato, the longer it takes to get ripe.
 
According to your posts you watered on the morning of the 14th then again on the morning of the 18th really that’s only 3 days without water. In 3 gal smart pots I often wait longer than that at 45%RH about 18” from a 400w mh. Just saying... I think these girls never dried properly. It will take a lot longer then 3 days for an over watered plant to dry out and recover. I’m no pro but I really think your still overwatering! Just trying to help
 
I have left a plant I thought needed water for days just trying to see it wilt or “ask”for water but in my conditions 17°-20°c night 20°-26°c day and 40-50%rh it didn’t happen. I have a ton of air movement through exhaust fan and a 6” in the tent. Can’t keep RH above 50% even with humidifier. Just trying to give you some insight on my setup and how hard it is for me to underwater. I would almost have to try to underwater.
 
Thanks DAAS, this is my first grow with 315 and trying to get everything figured out with new grow space. I have yielded 6 oz per photo plant with CFL grows so my expectations for 315 may have been overly optimistic. Otherwise I'm really pleased with how I can control environment in grow space, if I can just figure out watering these smart pots!
 
No worries, Blue! I appreciate your input. I know I'm splitting hairs but I watered the morning of the 14th and didn't water again until the evening of the 18th, so about 4 1/2 days between watering. I did get a moisture meter and it showed soil "dry" in several areas before I watered on the 18th. Growing autos for the first time and all I have read is don't stress them because of short grow period. Well... 😅
 
Just filled humidifier and saw this on a couple of lower fan leaves. Is this just damage from overwatering or something else? It can be difficult to compare photos in sick plant tutorials. Autos are in week 5 and diffently flowering.

Well your post says morning of the 18th so watering on the 14th only gives 15,16,17th without being watered! I want your plants to grow great and strong lol where is Nebula!
 
Hello PuravidaC, I hope that damage is from overwatering, when did you notice that ?
I remember some of those cfl,grows you did, they turned out nice didn't they.
 
Yeah, DAAS. I was really pleased with past CFL grows. Caught the bug and trying to get better!! Like all of us! 😁
 
Pura I think that ok for week 5 of bloom as the plant run out of n the fan leaves are the first to show it and I think thats what it is, I'm in week eight and have some leaves like that to it happens
 
Hey Blue if my girls don't need water on the 4th day, I think something is wrong, as the grow crawls along I increase the amount of water to my girls but just enough for 3 full days .I dont water to run off if something happens and they stop feeding then I flush and that takes care of it
 
Same here OJH. I was just saying in a 3gal with a small plant watered to runoff it takes more than 3 day’s to dry out in my conditions. But I have noticed in the last few weeks they start to drink substantially more as they grow. Also I was topping and bending and all the rest so growth was slow also affecting how much they use I guess. If it wasn’t for you guys here I’d still Be overwatering I think. I would have never let them dry out as much as I am now! Thanks all
 
Yeah depending on your conditions ,they can go a hellava long time before they need water -feed, but when they growing good you want to make sure they got plenty now, to keep them growing good, I don't let mine get bone dry.
 
Thanks DAAS I will try and not let them dry out as much, maybe that’s why I have slow growth! I recently managed to get all my pots on grates to keep air moving under the pots so overwatering will be easier to avoid now too!
 
Well the girls are looking much better! I fear the stress from over watering which reared it's ugly head around week 4, just as they were beginning to stretch, has had a negative effect on their overall growth. They are really short, even by auto standards, but I continue to learn with each grow. I have battled high soil ph, around 7, AND over watering. I have tried to bring soil ph down gradually, in an effort to not be too agressive, without much success. Without a doubt I will balance ph of growing medium but I start next grow. I have heard others stress the importance of correcting soil ph before starting but as usual, I have to learn the hard way!!!

looking good puravida arethey in SOIL or Coco because in Soil isn't the ph from 6.5 to 7. in coco its 6 to 6.5 same as hydro maybe Im thinking wrong but a ph of 7 in soil would make me smile
