Concern about discolored leaves - thoughts?

just in the last day or two these leaves have started getting reddish/brown on tips and around edges. I've inspected the buds and they all look healthy - no brown growth and nothing that looks like mold spores. They've continued to get nutes every other watering - FoxFarms Trio at half strength (Big Bloom 1.5tsp/gal, Grow Big 1tsp/gal, Tiger Bloom 0.5tsp/gal). They were also flushed for the first time a week ago - Fox Farm Sledge Hammer 2tsp/gal. I've been dealing with heat and humidity challenges - according to my GrowHub, over the last month temp has averaged 80 degrees F and humidity has averaged 60%. They're planted in soil (5gal fabric pots) in a 2x4 tent with 200W LED light at 75% intensity.
Anyone have thoughts about what this might be, if I should be concerned, and what I can do about it?

Hello Sperocles you're at the right place. I'm assuming the PH is in range for soil? It appears the coloring is also down in the lower part of the plant? Have you clicked on the Plant Problems tab at the top of this page? There's a bit of debate on the forum about late stage flowering and what that looks like. Yellowing leaves all over the plant in the flower stage could be a potassium or phosphorus deficiency. It could be the plant taking the nutrients it needs from the stored energy in those leaves. What do the trichomes look like? There's nice a frost all over the buds. How far along in the flower stage are ya?
 
I've looked at the Plant Problems tab and the closest thing I found to the leaf discoloration problem suggest bud rot. That's why I inspected the buds for brown sections and mold spores. These photos show buds/leaves at the canopy. If my pH meter is accurate I have battled high soil pH the entire grow. All waterings and feedings have been adjusted to 6.5pH but it never seemed to help lower the soil reading I have been getting. I think the trichomes look great. Very bright and clear, no milkyness at all. I switched to 12/12 6 weeks ago and it has been about a month and 2 days since I first noticed the flower pistils. Thanks for your feedback.
 
6 weeks into flower and the trichs are clear. What does the cultivar's grow guide say about how long the flower period is? That's a good guide, but it's still just a guide. The thrichomes rule. I'm assuming this is a photo and not an auto? "If my pH meter is accurate" Have you kept it properly calibrated? Sounds like you have been doing everything right.
 
this is my first grow so you're starting to mention things I know nothing about. where do I find a cultivar's grow guide? These are photoperiod strains - Laughy Taffy and Apple Sauz (both from Trilogene Seeds). Trilogene's website doesn't appear to have any cultivar grow guides - just general information. The pH meter I'm referring to when questioning its accuracy is the kind that has two metal probes that you stick into the soil (added a photo above). I haven't seen anything about calibration for that meter but will do some more research.
 
I found some info on SeedFinder about two of the parent strains (Sour Punch and Zour Apples), but I couldn't find anything here about my specific strains. Both of these parents have a +/- 60 days flowering period. I also couldn't find anything on the other parent strain (Grapes & Cream). Guess I'll need to be watching those trichomes and pistils closely.
 
Throw that meter away.

Why did you flush the soil? How long after flushing the soil did the leaves lose color?
 
I'm following the Fox Farms Soil Feeding Schedule and was at the point of it recommending a flush. The brown/red edges began around 5 days after the flush.

That so called PH meter was meant to sell not use, toss it and get a real one.
The fade is luvely, plants eating their leaves for the nutrients that was washed out of the soil.
 
it seems that following the FoxFarms Soil Feeding Schedule was not a wise choice. maybe I should throw it away also. it's been three days since they were last fed so I'll give them more nutes today. btw, what is meant by fade ("looks like a nice fade" and "the fade is lovely")?
 
I wouldn't throw it away, you have a pretty good grow there. But I wouldn't flush a soil grow until I knew I was very close to harvesting...actually i don't flush soil grows ar all.

Tim guessing the flush us meant to be done 2 weeks from harvest?
 
I currently use BlueLab PH equipment. Very accurate. I have also used Hannah PH pens. There's lots of brand options but you get what you pay for. Some on the forum use PH test strips. You're right to check out the seed suppliers site for specific grow information. I see what you mean about the lack of info on the Trilogene web site. Next best option is also what you've done. Knowing the flowering time period, even when understanding these guides are made under laboratory conditions, can be helpful. It looks like you're close to the 8 week time period of the parents. And yes, watching the trichomes and pistils is the only way to go. Do you have a jewelers loupe? How are you examining the trichomes?
 
Bluey, while it appears you are correct about a recommended flush a couple weeks prior to harvest, I didn't think I was at that point. The flush I was performing was the one to start week 8 according to the chart, which is where I estimated I was in the grow/flowering schedule (4th week of flowering). Maybe I'm further along than I thought. I switched to 12/12 on April 15. First flowers I noticed appeared around April 28 - probably started earlier and I just didn't recognize them as flowers at that point. I've read stuff (maybe at FoxFarm, maybe here) that periodic flushes are recommended to mitigate nutrient buildup around the roots. Since I've only been delivering 1/2 strength nutes (again, something I read) maybe those periodic flushes are unnecessary. Hopefully, I'm learning and the my second and future grows will be even better. I appreciate your feedback.

Rwise, thanks for explaining fade. Now I am unsure if you are being serious or sarcastic. Is losing freshness or brilliance of color a good thing or bad thing in this case? dirtymike said "looks like a nice fade" so I thought you both were suggesting this fade was good. Thanks for helping me learn here.
 
The problem with flushing soil grows is you wash out the nutes and the microbes that make the nutes in the soil, so when you are using liquid nutes to suppliment the nutes that the soil produces naturally you run into a bit of a dilemma how best to manage it regarding salt build up in the medium.

Flushing is pretty drastic, a little bit of runoff now and again is probably all she needs. I grow in coco and only give runoff twice a week at about 20% and that works pretty well. I have flushed a couple of grows between transitioning from veg to flower nutes but I don't like doing it as it stresses the plant and I don't think it's needed as I've gone without doing it without a problem.

If you stuff up with the nutes flushing is the answer most times to give yourself a clean start.
