Hi guys. This has been discussed before and there is always debate about it but would like to hear from people who have actually done it and what the results were like. I am building a new room and trying to decide whether to go fully sealed with no ventilation using co2 or just the conventional way. There is also so much debate in regards to temperature, co2 levels and humidity as well as totally failed crops using a fully sealed room. I have never used co2 before and have noticed that there are different grades available and was also wondering if this has a bearing on impurities. Most who do ventilate say it is to remove the ethylene from the room and have various venting times and durations. Another question is does positive pressure have any effect at all, either on the plants or electrical equipment.
Basically I am thinking of building a 2.4m x 1.4m x 2m room completely sealed using 3 x 600w HPS lights and running co2 at 1800ppm. I am also considering installing a water trap to relieve positive pressure. The only venting that would occur would be when I opened the door. I have access to laboratory grade co2 which is supposedly 99.9995% pure with the only impurity being oxygen and moisture. I have been told to run co2 only while the lights are on and only for the veg stage and the first 2 weeks of flowering stage. Any comments from people who have experience using this type of set up would be much appreciated.
