SOIL C'mon big colas! No whammies!

Scarlet Sunset in its twilight.

IMG_2684 (2).jpg

Alien Tech and LSD dominate the tent. It's taking all the yo-yos I've got to keep stuff propped up.

IMG_2685 (2).jpg

Blue Dream, Wedding Cake and Candyland are coming along in the 3x3.

IMG_2686 (2).jpg

Ghost Train Haze is getting some breathing room after the departure of the probably-a-boy plant.

Scarlet Sunset did indeed come down on Sunday. It made some dense and frosty colas despite the stress. The other Scarlets are in jars, frosty as January and smelling quite fruity. I'm still trying to see if I can get tomatoes from that volunteer plant. The 4x4 has every yo-yo to my name employed in trying to hold up the Alien Technology and LSD buds. The plants in the 3x3 continue to build flowers as well as the GTH in the nursery. I wish I had more grow space! Or not - I also need more storage space for product. I'm very seriously considering revegging a GTH and raising a batch of its clones when I start up again this fall.

Scarlet Sunset is still drying and I finally have a little green tomato after lots of unsuccessful attempts to pollinate! Meanwhile, the other 4x4 has enough bud there to support this household until January, assuming nothing goes wrong. The 3x3 will provide plenty as well. Then there's always the GTH doing sativa things and trying to outgrow their tent.

Big bud on left is Alien Technology, LSD to the right. Just finish please.

IMG_2750(1).jpg

Blue Dream is towering over Candyland in front and Wedding Cake on right. I took this one with lights out. The camera flash really brings out the frost.

IMG_2756(1).jpg

[sigh] Sativas. They'll do it every time. One of these girls is getting revegged for clones for a run in a 4x4 this fall.

I've got more pics and smoke reports! First, the photos.

IMG_2779 (2).jpg

Alien Technology, LSD
Critical XXL, White Widow.
Just big nuggets everywhere. Imagine if I'd been more diligent with this grow.

Blue Dream, Wedding Cake
Candyland
BD is starting to show fading the same way Blueberry do. Shooting in the dark with a flash really brought out the frost.

Just GTH outgrowing its space.

The other 4x4 still has a tomato plant taking over everything. For all my efforts to hand pollinate, I have two baby tomatoes to show for it. All of the autos from there are now in jars.
Scarlet Galaxy and Scarlet Runtz have been tried. Scarlet Sunset is still drying/curing in an air conditioned space. Both Scarlets came out frosty and potent. It seemed SG was a bit more potent but SR had a better flavor. Sunset was nearly chewed to death early and made buds less dense than its cousins. It smells very nice in the jar though and will get sampled in a joint soon enough. I will probably run more of these autos in the fall but probably from five gallon pots since they don't get tall and they finish way before photos. Next run will probably look like a 4x4 of GTH clones, a 4x4 of photos to be named later and autos in the 3x3. The nursery will probably just be for a GTH mom if I decide to keep her after the clones are ready. But that's months away, so I'm in hurry up and finish already mode for now.

That second pic back left, BD I think, those buds are super long and filling out nicely by the looks of it. Almost need side lighting.

How long to go do you reckon?

I've changed the lights in the 4x4 and the 3x3 to 11/13 because I'm getting just a little impatient and I'd like to help keep the temps down in the hot part of the day. I may yet have to plug in that silly air conditioner because of the heat wave we're in. As big as those buds are, I might even change to 10/14 so they don't run too long and start making nanners.

Yes good move UndergroundFarmer. My outdoor autos are foxtailing alittle do to the high temps we had and dry wind. Awful for them. No nanners but like you I'm going to wack these 4 on Monday when they soil should be dryed out. They are tired but don't look it too bad no leaf nercrousis really but i'm ready to be over with these an focus on my photos. Yeah.....big buds :)

I called it a few days ago. Today I pulled a few nanners off Alien Technology! I've set the 4x4 to 10/14 and after a look with the USB microscope, I've decided to chop this weekend. I set the lights to 11/13 for the 3x3 and the nursery too for good measure. I've still got plenty of white hairs left but those are new growth brought on by heat and light stress. I nixed the white LEDs in the 4x4 too. The other 4x4 has at least a half-dozen tomatoes growing on the vines now, so the hand pollination is starting to work.

Alien Technology - LSD
Critical XXL - White Widow
I decided to try shooting this one in the dark because I like the effect. I'm going to be in trim jail a long time after this comes down.

IMG_2790.jpg

Alien Technology. You can see a nanner just above here.

IMG_2791(1).jpg

LSD. Foxtailing is just how it builds bud.

IMG_2792.jpg

White Widow is not as spectacular but decent for a late start.

IMG_2793.jpg

Critical XXL somehow looks more done than the others - probably because it didn't get near the lights.

3x3:
IMG_2794.jpg

Blue Dream - Wedding Cake
Candyland

BD is fading fast and may even get cut this weekend. Wedding Cake has nearly exhausted the soil. Candyland is doing well. At least the older one is. a late sprouter is just now building flower at extreme left.

Nursery:
IMG_2795(1).jpg

Still a mess. I had hopes of moving them to the 3x3 to finish and I may get that chance yet.

I haven't fed any of these plants in more than a month. I've only given them water with or without coconut extract and wetting agent. Making your own worm compost beats anything else I've tried. Have I mentioned that I don't even adjust pH when I water? Maybe I'll try to lay out how I do all this in its own thread once the grow room is dormant for the summer.

Yeah man, you're just my style. Worm compost, growing veggies with weed, it's perfect. Your plants look great man. That cola on the blue dream wedding cake is phenomenal.

Thanks. I hear the first run with living soil is never as good as the next several runs and I think it's true. Blue Dream did surprise me by stretching that far and filling out so much of the stretch.

Chop day was Sunday! This is Alien Technology just before I started plucking fan leaves:

IMG_2805.jpg

I think AT had the thickest stem of anything I've ever grown. This girl was heavy!

Here's AT hanging in the tent:

White Widow:

Critical XXL:

I think it weighed about one tenth of what AT weighed wet!

In the 3x3, Blue Dream and Wedding Cake have stopped drinking and Candyland is looking ripe, so chop can happen very soon. Ghost Train Haze is just building a bit more flower and starting to ripen.

I have some massive buds to show for this run but I can't help wondering how it would have gone if I'd been a bit more disciplined with defoliating and lollypopping. It doesn't matter that much because stuff too small to trim just ends up as gummies. If RH doesn't fall out of the 70s I may wind up using my hanging drying rack and removing the buds from the stems. I prefer slow drying but I hate mold!
