As long as the plant is healthy you could keep cloning it for ever. That’s how every single banana anyone has eaten since 1970 has been a clone of the same plant. They don’t even have seeds anymore
I have two strains that are super awesome and they have been cloned off clones for over 10 years now. Probably somewhere in the 40th generation mark. It all depends on how stable the original genetics are. I'm not saying all strains could handle this but I definitely am impressed with how extremely long these two strains have been cloned.
I just grew a white widow clone the Guy I got the clone from said he got the original clone 10 years ago. Who knows how long the person who gave him the clone had it before that...
Trainwreck
OG Kush (I believe it's pre98 Bubba Kush)
They guy I get my clones from said he got clones of these back in '04/'05 and has been cloning them ever since.
