Clone roots...

These are a few of my most recent round of clones. They aren't showing any roots out of the sides or bottom, but these roots up top are jutting out into thin air! What's the deal with that? Am I keeping them too moist? Should I be concerned?

I suspect that it may be a bit to damp for their liking. Roots need air(either dissolved in the solution or in direct contact) so being soaked in stagnant water is a concern. Other than that it looks good.

I'd say its time to get those babies planted in some soil.

Thanks. I thought it might be because the cubes were too wet. Better late than never, though. I'm gonna hold off on re-planting until I see more roots (or even SOME roots) coming out the sides and/or bottom.

If you are seeing any new vertical growth on the clone- it would be better to plant them, as mentioned.

I'm in the same place with mine I'm going to try heating pad under mine

It happened because it was wet in there but it's okay. If anything it shows your clones are rooting great! As long as you see roots and the plant itself is growing, the clone is ready to go whenever you are

in my exprince it is not gennerally a problem ... 2 condition can make This Roots outside of the medium ... 1 Toomuch humidity (too much wet ) 2 : it can happening when you clone a Aged Stem ... when you picked up a old Semi-woody Stem for cloning its notmal to see these sympotms its not genneraly a bad things but sometimes Can add extra weeks till Recovering

That's two strikes against me, PK. I thought it was too wet, but figured it'd be better to have delayed growth, rather than killing them. Also, I have no idea how many generations old this clone is. We did start using silicon with the last grow, and saw a significant increase in the sturdiness of the stems, so it's trending towards woody. We did give them a good scraping before dousing in rooting gunk when transplanting.
