Yes, just keep bending them around the edge of the pot. BTW you girls are stretching a bit too much. Get your light closer to the plant. No more then a foot away.
You're right, it would be too close. A good way to measure the distance would be to put the back of your hand under the light as close as you can for 30 seconds without burning. That is as close as you can put the TOP of the plant.
