hey ppl. about to bring my seedlings outside and put in well composted soil. wife brought home chicken poop for the veggie garden yesterday, should i add this to my soil or wait till they get over the transplant. also how long should i wait to top after the move. they're about 2 weeks old and very leggy after starting in a window.

I don't have any answers about the chicken poop, but someone will. Top at the 5th node, however long it takes. Plant 'em deeper if they're leggy.

Hey mate Ive used chicken manure in an outdoor grow before where I got over 5 pound off a 1 girl scout cookie. It's high in nitrogen and is great to mix in with your soil as long as its been composted for over 6 months otherwise it's too "hot". I'm also a big fan of rabbit shit, bit harder to find than chook poo but it can be used straight away and contains good amounts of all NPK.

Break it up and mix it 10 to 1. Organics will burn also. It's great for an outdoor grow. Indoor it is a little funky. Cut it with your medium and all's well. After the first rain it settles down a bit.

Compost it first...its high in phosphorus

We raised chickens...lots. It is super hot and like Wayzee said, compost it for a long time. Like a whole season to mellow it out. After that, use sparingly.
We would dump it by the truckload and it killed the grass in the fields for a year or two.
