Chapter 2: The Little Sprout That Could (2nd grow)

Starting a thread for my second grow.
Trying to get a little ambitious and have 4 plants going.
2 Auto Glueberry OG from Dutch Passion
2 Photo White Widow from Seedsman

The glueberry og is advertised as a good strain for SCROG. I'm just keeping it simple by topping early and then letting it do it's thing.

The white widows will alsobgo through some topping as well.

All are in the same tent on an 18/ 6 light schedule. I figure the autos will finish before I'm ready to switch the photos to flowering so hopefully it works out.

Auto Glueberry OG. The sprouted seeds went in the dirt on 1/18. These were both topped twice as early as possible. I made a mistake topping one of them and cut too much off, but it is ok. Likely will have one less main cola than it's sister.

White Widow photoperiod. These sprouted and were planted on 2/1. One came up quickly while the other took it's sweet time. The bigger one has been topped twice. I will do the same to the straggler when it's ready.

Grow medium: Fox Farms Ocean
Lights: Viparspectra 300w LED x 2
Plain PH adjusted water used for first two weeks. Started adding nutes every other watering for the Glueberries. Full recommended strength of Fox Farms Grow Big ( Need to check name later) for veg stage.

Using smart pots and noticed the medium is drying out a bit quicker than last grow. I watered every 5-6 days prior grow and this one seems to be going about 3-4 days till the pot feels very light and dry. Could be just thirsty or dryer conditions. I need to put up the humidity monitor perhaps just dryer inside due to wintertime and heat being on.

One is getting trained, the other I don't think is quite ready for another topping and training. I'm using a wire clothes hanger that I cut up and bent to assist in training.

So I'm wondering if it's worth trying to replant my autos into bigger pots once they started flowering. I'd like to replant if it helps them grow a bit, but from what I read it's not recomended due to shock for the plant.
Basically one of my autos is being sluggish and I'd like to put it in a 4 gallon pot from it's 2 gallon pot. It's sister is flowering, but I'm fairly certain the buds are gonna be really small and airy. I might have gotten overzealous with topping it. On the flipside though, it might be doing better if I planted them in 4 gallon pots after their "solo cup" phase. I dunno, hence, asking for advice.
I am out of fresh growing medium to add to the 4 gallon posts till I get my delivery of more fox farms soil. The auto that is not flowering as well might get replanted into a 4 gallon when the soil arrives. Guess I'll just chronical it and update on what happens.

Budlofsky's Dinner here's my 2cents on transplanting...and this comes from transplanting all manner of OTHER plants but not this one so take that for what it is worth...i think the general presumption against transplanting is that it is unfamiliar and definitely not as "easy" as the alternative, not transplanting. that said, it's really not that hard to transplant in such a way that you minimize and/or have no shock whatsoever. if you follow Nebula's tutorial

and two parts that i've found non-negotiable/really make the whole thing go smoothly is to first saturate well beforehand so the soil holds together but not overwater cuz then it'll be too heavy and the soil will fall away when you lift it. the second is to use a butter knife or maybe a paint stirrer, any least invasive stick type device will do, to go around the soil in between it and the pot all the way around the diameter of the pot beforehand. so as to "get between" the soil and the container so that you can kinda of compact the soil's sides if that makes sense. if done correctly you can lift it out no problem. i hope that helps.

I decided against replanting my autos but I replanted one of my white widows that i'm training. Here is after replanting from 2 to 4 gallon pot.
As for the other white widow, its still a bit small so I left it alone.

My autos are slowly forming buds. I don't like how small they are. I had not checked ph of the water I have been mixing up for a few waterings since I had figured out exactly how much ph down to add so it would be around 6.2-6.3 ph when I was always measuring. Glad I checked this time before watering. Ph was down to 3.8! I fixed that REAL fast and got it to 6.4. Checked ph off my runoff and it was 6.0 on the nose. Hopefully this will give them what they need.

Both White Widows are lookin good. Started training the late sprouter and she's about ready for a transplant.

Update 2:
Autos are doing ok I think. Definitely 100% positive next time I plant an auto seedling , its going in a 4 gallon pot vs the 2 gallons I been using. The one that I topped too early and also messed up when topping is doing pretty good. Buds starting to thicken up a bit. The other one Seems to be taking its time and all the bud sites are wispy looking, but starting to bulk up a tiny bit. But man , those pistils are long, mutant-looking things!

Based on other threads I'm reading, I'm a bit concerned. Seems like a "good" concerned tho. Here is an updated pic of one of my photoperiod white widow.
I dunno what to do. I topped it twice and bound it down to grow flat, but its acting like, "OK Budlofsky, game on bitch."
My problem, I got autos that haven't finished yet. I was hoping I could keep her as is till the autos are done in a few weeks so I can keep the light schedule as is, but she seems ready to flip to flower time.
Let it go? Flip to flowering schedule?

There's potentially 20-22 "tops" on this thing. My big concern is there is only so much headroom in my tent to raise lights. How much will it stretch in flower? Seems like a thank you and curse you GWE for this problem!

The autos I tried topping are kinda meh. One I chopped down early( forgot to take pics first). It was really short and small. The other I'm going to try and let it go another 2 weeks to see if the buds fatten up a bit.
I think what I learned with topping them is that they will need to be in bigger pots when topping early and often.

Photos are doing well. I just switched to 12/12 to start flowering since I might run out of vertical space. One of the photoperiod white widows got pretty huge quickly and I did not expect that.
