CFL growers

I've only been using CFL for 5 months now and I did not know that they degraded over time. I'll be interested in the responses to you question, too.

Figure after 2 years they start to loose "power" and light spectrum become's less effective. 5 years being the max.

Running lights 18 and 12 hours daily I was thinking lifespan may be shorter. First CFL grow was great. Hugh, dense buds. Second grow not so good. Loose, airy buds. Trying to figure what went wrong.

Lights definitely loose lumens over time. I use HPS and replace my bulb every 2 years. I can tell as soon as I replace mine.

That happens regardless sometimes in photo as well. Example..now i have three different photo strains...all same day in flower mind you....my maui there are 6 of them 2 of the 6 are like what you say...they are developing slower and airy. Just different pheneos....it does piss me off though!!!! Alot!!

hmm, interesting topic. I'm on my fourth grow with the same CFLS (going 18 hours/day), and up to flowering everything looked normal, but now the current grow is behaving differently (loose airy buds). This may because of the strain or other variables that I've introduced, but would like to know if it's the light losing some power.

Yes indeed Green....that was just the kind of info I was looking for! Since I'm very small scale, I can say that it really doesn't make a big difference to me (getting new bulbs), cause I am thinking more now about my next summer's outdoor grows (yes plural),...so the sun can give me all the lumens I need! 🌻😊🌻
