Carbon Filter Question

I have 3 plants in late bloom and of course they've been stinking up the place for a while now, so I finally got around to installing a carbon filter. I went the diy route and it works great. I vent outside and there is no detectable odor outdoors at all now but I've noticed that the smell in my grow room is virtually nonexistent now too. On the outside of my filter I only have fine screen holding in the carbon and it's only about 1ft away from my plants so the active carbon is sitting right next to the buds. I'm kinda surprised at the lack of smell in the room all of a sudden and just want to make sure the carbon won't affect bud taste/smell/quality. I know Ona gel can't share air with flowering plants but I've never heard anything about carbon that's not enclosed in a store bought filter. Any thoughts?

carbon filtering cannot effect the bud taste or smell in any way, the reason why your not smelling it in the room is because the carbon filter is cleaning the air at a high rate of speed over the amount that is being produced. when placing a carbon filter thats a DIY, depending on how its done and the amount of layers being used its recommend that you place one also at the out put source(vent to outside) in chance that the first one starts to degrade and not catch the entire smell. also it will help dampen the sound being produced to the outside as well as a bearer from unwanted pests. also you could place carbon filter in the room on a fan that will circulate the air only in that room allowing the exhaust fan to not work to hard to pull the smell outside thru the DIY carbon you made. Glad the DIY project helped a alot tho

not a problem, i am getting ready to set up my CF here in teh next two weeks, i can already smell the weed and im only in a veg stage right now so i have had to do my research.
