Can't figure this out.

So I have a small CFL semi-stealth grow with 16 4ft bulbs in soil in 3-4gal containers. I'm getting about 30k lumens. The plants are growing slower than usual, the leaves are clawing down like nitrogen toxicity, but, the leaves are also a pale green with a very subtle yellowing between the viens like I have a calcium or mag deficiency. I'm using the BC Grow products. I got the sampler box. I have been using a weaker solution on a feed, water, water schedule I water every 3-4 days, and the plants have good drainage It gets pretty hot in there but there is no cupping. And they are still in veg so I have a bit of wiggle room on the temp. I will be installing ventilation very soon to deal with this.

Any ideas?

Hello Greybeard ! What type of soil are you growing in and do you have any photos ? Good drainage and hot temps are an indication your plants could need more water. If you feed halfway that could cause a deficiency based on the plant uptake. Pictures tell it all if you have them. Good Luck . Good Growing !!
 
Here are some pix. Ive tested the ph and its good. Slightly alkaline actually. The other tests take longer so i will do N, P, K and potash in the morning.

Im using a blend of topsoil and magic mushroom and or black cow. Growth rate has increased. I think they are rootbound actually. And i will transfer to 5 gal buckets tomorrow. That should help. Also i think that i need to water more. I hope the pix help
 
How do you mean organic. It's a blend of topsoil and mushroom compost. I did the testing on the N, P, K and my N and K are low to very low and my P is high to very high. How do I correct this" I have a sampler of all the BC grow, tiger bloom from fox field farms and miracle grow.

yeah that makes sense, seems like you got a phosphorous toxicity and very low nitrogen and potassium. check the main site's toxicity articles to read up on what this means and what to do. thats the issue with organic soils, you never really know whats in there and how concentrated. im guessing you could add some high nitrogen chicken manure or something similar and something that provides phosphorous and then dilute your soil with perlite. you need to balance the nutrients in your soil
 
I did some reading and found that it is not easy to tox out a plant on P. Nebula suggests flushing with general purpose fert. So I ran a dilute sln of miracle grow. In fact this is the first time I wasn't using MGrow during veg. Coincidence? So I think I got it sorted. Still wanna hear your thoughts tho'.

So I flushed the plants. They already look better. And in the last few days are beginning to stretch. i had no idea about the mushrooms. I use a 2bag topsoil to 1 bag compost. It is excellent for all my other plants! And the N-P-K is 0.5-0.5-0.2 which seems pretty low to begin with. But I'll go with cow or horse manure.
 
how-to-make-homemade-potassium-for-plants I found this info on adding just separate nutes so you don't add more Phosphorous .Add-Nitrogen-to-Compost 9fingerleafs is correct on this as well. If you are not satisfied with the plant health you can also due a transplant into organic soil and then just water no added nutes unless your are in flower. Personally I would transplant because Not knowing how much N and K it will take to correct the problem could lead to more. Hope it helps. Good Growing !!

On a side note I am using MG Natures Care Garden Soil with root trients, very impressed with its performance !

Yeah it was a combo of not enough water and not enough nutes. The yellow leaves are greening up and the others are a lovely dark green. And since my original post. They have shot up a couple of inches. I'll post some pix soon. Thanks!
ps nice lookin plants!
