Can stress cause early maturity?

Can stress in late flower cause plant to mature early, amber trichomes, before buds fill out completely?

I believe it can. Because I stress my plants a little near harvest to increase trichome production. So it could be possible that some milky trichs could lean towards the brown side. Maybe, perhaps, I guess, probly.
