Can I use an infrared heat lamp to regulate temperature

I was wondering during the vegetative state, if I could use an infrared heat lamp to regulate the grow tents temperature during the 18/6 cycle. My tent gets very cold at night during the 6 hour phase, and even sometimes during the 18 hour phase. But my concern is during the 6 hour dark phase, will having an infrared heat lamp interrupt the plants darkness cycle?

list of my concerns
  • During vegetative phase, I don't want to disturb the plants sleep cycle
  • During vegatative phase, I don't want to prematurely flower the plant (I don't know how infrared through the night will effect the plant)
  • During flowering phase (12/12), I want to make sure that infrared wont disturb the plants sleep cycle
I've been looking at two different bulbs, one emits a little light, and the other one doesn't. Both say they use infrared

Little light: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0066L0YJE/
No light: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HFNZ59Q/

I should mention that I have a temperature controller which would turn on the light only when the temperature drops below a set degree.

Thanks,

LH

I use a lil 10 buck heater from Walmart for my vegitation room but if your gana use a lamp I would go with the one with no light

Before I would add anything, try changing the light day time and run the 18 hr through the night and have the 6 hours during the warmest part of the day!
Then I would add :
CFL's for heat and extra light and see how that works.

It wont hurt anything in veg, maybe try lights on 24-0 in veg for temp control. Not sure about red in flower.
