Buying seeds

If I traveled to a Cannabis legal state would I be able to purchase medicine or seeds to grow my own with? Any help?

I'm not certain because I've only ever ordered seeds online (to the USA), but I know I'd be nervous traveling around with seeds. You don't have to carry seeds over the border if you order them online!
