I'm just a little curious. When you're buying seeds, what do you look for as far as seed quality goes? I look for two things: THC in the 20%+ range and bud density not below 4.
 
Since I generally do not believe I will get the same results as the people who are producing the seeds, I'll spend my money on anything Kush. OG Kush for my next grow and Banana Kush for the one after that.
Unless some shifty online character starts gifting his homegrown. I'm a sucker for gifted homegrown.
There's a density scale?
 
I'm with you Gingerbeard. I like anything, Kush. The 3 big plants on my other post are Bubba Kush. Yes there is a Density scale from 1-5. 1 being larfy to 5 being rock hard.
 
Here's something to think about. Something I think about, anyway. Bud density vs. end use.
When I blasted, density didn't matter because the buds were broken up and washed.
New to the IWH world, I would prefer loose bud to dense because dense buds are harder to breakup in the wash.
In the end, I'm going for trichome load.
I understand dense bud is supposed to have higher canna- profiles and shoot for full flowers, but... man... when I was 17 and smoked my first bowl, it was like that first fifth of Finlandia vodka that made me throw up Tex-Mex in my buddy's car and pass out on his lawn (Serves him right for giving me the vodka, wot?) I didn't give a shit about what it tasted or smelled like (I still do not like the taste or smell of alcohol or a burning bowl.) Today, flavor is secondary to potency only because I don't have to use as much potent dope. Maybe smoking that brown back in Arizona in the late 80's really fucked up the connoisseur in me.
 
And cost. My local dispensary sells seeds for $20 per seed. No freebies. No BOGO. Nerts to that. Just paid $65 for 4. That includes shipping, 4 more of the same strain, and 4 more of another strain.
They also do clones for $20. Unless they are new, their clones are always melancholic.
 
Kush has been the hardest that I've grown so far indoors. Fire Og being the most potent I've tried. Price sure seems to be a little high around where Gingerbeard resides. I've tried beans from a lot of breeders but kush always fails for me. I can't seem to get the environment right.
 
dirtymike I've grown almost every Kush there is and I don't treat them any different than any other weed. If you look at the picture, the 2 in the rear and the 1 on the right front are Bubba Kush. The only thing is, they are water hogs. I need to water them at least every 3rd. Day.

Where are you two? I'm in San Diego, sea level, about 1.5 miles from the Pacific, and don't use but a ceiling fan for my personal environmental conditioning. Maybe could be geography and other household mechanical systems and such are better for Kush?
As for price, dirtymike . I think some people are still sketchy about ordering marijuana seeds online and some folks don't have the electronic plastic to do so. It's like buying a candy bar. If you can't get to Walmart and pay $1.50 on a candy bar, and you really need your nougat, you'll spend $3.50 at the local liquor store because it's right there.
 
Gingerbeard, I'm in Montana and get my seeds from Seedsman, and most of the time they are shipped from San Diego.If I order them on monday, I'll get them by saturday. Never had a issue with them.
 
They are not in San Diego, KF. They are in Ft. Lauderdale. I thought they were in SD, that's why I ordered from them.
The website information got updated when I saw that as the sender's address on this last order of OG and Banana Kush. But, yes. They got here pretty quickly.
 
Dang it. My bad. Like a time before, I got Seedsman and Seedsupreme mixed up. GWE said Seedsupreme was in San Diego, but it is in Ft. Lauderdale. Mine came from them.
And there are a few variations of Seedsman (Seeds) (Seed Bank) in Barcelona and Mississippi.
Whatever yours says, that's the ticket.
There is also at least one Seedman.
 
I currently reside in east Tennessee, the hold out state full of right wing KUKS that aint got all the money their great grand kids cant spend. We all get together and buy seeds from different sources inside and outside the US. Any internet connection will do. I like to use the lobby at the local police station to place mine sometimes. Paid card with VPN using WIFI, works so far.
 
I go by breeders ratings and an d a little research, and it can still be a crap shoot. Growdiaries can be a good source but you have to read between the lines. Is it a growers sucess or the breeders and growers sucess. Vis versa ugly buds
 
try to get your beans from the OG breeder. these white label seeds from seedsman, north atlantic, seed supreme are not what they call them. Slurricane is a In house Genetics strain. two friends grew white label versions of it and the plants weren't even close to the OG. i go after terps and plant uniformity when i am working with autoflowers. photos i am usually looking for bag appeal since some strains like Slurricane and Sugarcane can be some sparkly weed. bud tightness is usually not a factor with me.
Photo genetics that are true fire are In House, Bodhi, Solfire. Humboldt seed company, dark Horse for the OG Bruce banner and Relentless genetics.
for autoflowers cant go wrong with Mephisto, Night owl, ethos, Rocbud and of course Yours Truly.
