well, the drying speed has a couple of factors, one is of course humidity, i like mine at 60%, but if you cannot control humidity then you could hang entire plants with all the leaves and branches for the first few days at least, its easier to remove each branch and hang in a row but that speeds up drying, yes i dont trim until a couple of weeks into the cure, meaning i "jar" (i use a bucket with gamma seal) untrimmed bud and i trim afterwards when the curing has already started and the moisture from the leaves is no longer needed. if you are not seeing a monumental change in the first two weeks of curing then you messed up and dried too fast and it will be very hard to get the curing going again. you want to live at the edge of mold and funky smells, takes practice but its not hard, just smell everything all the time. curing is decomposing organic matter in a controlled way, leaves also protect trichomes and prevent aromas from escaping during the dry.
