Bubblephonics

Howdy GamerWeed, All of the plants need oxygen at the roots. Soil grows get the 02 from the 'air gaps' in the soil (that is why the soil needs to be loose and not compacted), whereas in a hydro set up there are no ' air gaps' in the water, so there must be plenty of air bubbles available for the roots. In a traditional hydro system there either has to be a 'drain' time so that air is made available for the roots (ebb and flow method), or a substantial 'air gap' between the plant base and the top of the water must be maintained to allow the root sufficient area to take in the oxygen. The air bubbles also help to prevent algae growth (along with maintaining low water temperature and blocking out ALL light intrusions into the reservoir) and fight the dreaded root rot.
Good luck with your grow.
