Branch connections weak

One of the plants I have going has very weak branch connections. If I gently pull on a leaf or branch it will snap off. I've never encountered this before.

Anyone have an idea as to why this is happening?

Cultivar is a cross of White Widow and Sour Diesel. I have 4 plants total in Root Organic Original in 7 gal pots but only this one is doing it. It was healthy right before I gave it a dose of nutes that I think were too strong for it. I also think the mix was too hot temperature wise but I don't think this happening one time would do it.

The hot nutes probably locked-up the roots and now she’s starving for calcium. Give her a good flush to wash away any excess salts and add cal/mag to help her recover. Start with a slightly lower EC/ppm for a week or two, then increase the nutes gradually.
 
I had exactly the same problem with exactly that strain from Franklin

I had to tape all its nodes.

Some completely broke off and I saved, others I couldn't.

Natural the manifold went to shit but its buds were the best...a1 dank as and knock you for 6

When I get weak limbs I will super crop the in a few place so strengthen them, just make sure you have scotch tape and a support of some sort handy. I agree though some times it is genitics
 
When you top cut just under the next node and leave a nub that will eventually get consumed by the plant and beef up the node you kept

Are these clones or the same strain grown from seed?
Does that setup water all of them from the same res?
 
So would you recommend I wrap all the joints? I can't even move them to train them or they'll snap off. Just overall the plant looks sick. I thought I needed to supplement with cal/mg to try and strengthen the walls. Is there anything you did that could help with this other than wrap the axials? The others are nice and healthy.
 
I only wrapped with teflon tape after they snapped. A few snapped right off. I lost 1 or two because I took too long to tape them back on. It was the weirdest shaped plant when I'd finished cause I couldn't bend anything, colas heading in all directions and taller than the others.

Pre wrapping with teflon is a great idea and also I used those green flexi tie things all over the plant to support the limbs. It worked.

It was worth it though. Still produced a great yield and the buds were about as good as they get re effects and strength.
 
Please excuse the intruption Bluey but do you mean teflon tape like plummers use on threaded pipe, that is what it looks like? Never heard of that but if it works for you I will give it a try.
 
I currently have it under the ScrOG net but since it has its own light maybe I'll just let it go and, like you said, tape up all the joints to reinforce. I can always raise the light if it has to go vertical.

Same strain grown from seed. That's what's weird. The others are nice and strong. No axial issues at all.

Yes. The plates are from FloraFlex. They also come with thin felt pads that help distribute water across the media. I didn't think the pads were really necessary but once I used them I saw how much they improved media saturation. If I'm home then I'll use a 5 gal bucket as the reservoir and mix up a fresh batch of feed for the plants on feed day. If I have to leave for an extended period of time, up to 6 weeks, then I use the larger 30 gal reservoir. I'm in the process of building a separate injection system for calcium products for when I leave for a long duration. If I'm feeding that same day then I can mix it all up without it precipitating but if I leave it any longer than that in the reservoir it'll start precipitating with the products containing phosphates and sulphates.

You can kind of see how I setup the feeder lines, two for each plate, to each site in this pic.

Distribution head. I'm going to reconfigure this a little differently by mounting the head to a 3/4" PVC pipe riser with a piece of 3/4" PVC spanning the tent floor and an air relief valve at the end. When the pump goes on I get pipe knock from the sudden rush of water pressure so a relief valve should stop that from happening.

Pump and reservoir setup. I'm using a pressure adjustable RV water pump. FloraFlex likes to see at least 35psi in the line for proper water dispersal.

I'll have another riser at the end of the line that will act like a water hammer arrester. The air relief valve will allow a certain amount of air to escape until the little ball that the air pushes seals the valve. This is how FloraFlex does it.

I used one of those balls valve float thingies once and flooded my room. I didn't have enough constant pressure to seal the thing properly
 
Nice setup, anytime you can set up any kind of auto feed its worth it on my opinion, I had a few leaks in the RDWC after a few years so I dont think my wife would agree. I used the drippers on an DIY auto feed, it worked pretty well but I could never tell if they were clogged or not, the plant grow tells me they never werre. My problem is I get greedy for buds and end up with plants in corners I cant get to because Iam not as bendy as I once was. I am going to enjoy watching your grow. As for the runt with weak limbs it may surpriise you
 
Stoner Creativity. I made it to hold the riser that connected the water source to the distribution head. Works fine with pond pumps but with the RV pump the water pressure is much higher so I need something a little more sturdy than the 1/2" vinyl hose I'm using now. Pond pumps don't put out the pressure these pumps do so I have to be more mindful of the piping I use for the irrigation system. Don't want to be feeding and hear that dreaded "POP" and then the sound of rushing water........

Most tent poles are around 15mm. You can use 1/2" PEX clips attached to whatever you want to hang off the pole. I converted a clip on fan with these clips and it worked great! If you don't know what PEX is it is a newer type of plumbing using more flexible plastic lines rather than traditional rigid pipes. The PEX clips are for when you want to hang the PEX across a roof or wherever you want to hold down the piping.
