Blue Mangoes and company

Hey y’all. Back from the dead. Round 2 of my battle with throat cancer. This time they took my ability to speak and smell. But I’m still here to bitch about it. It’s spring pollen chucking time and this year I’m trying to self Blue Mangoes. She is a cross of Mango Smile and my Blue Cake. Problem is I got a total of 5 seeds from the mother. Mango Smile was a reluctant pollen producer. Hopefully I can self her and plan on chucking her at a few others. Just can’t decide which ones. Im starting the reverse girl 2 weeks early to give time to make pollen. Once they are impregnated they will go outside for the remainder of the grow. Everything else you see is veggies started and some house plants. And my last Freak show bean that I don’t have much faith in. Anyhow here’s little baby Blue Mangoes.

Ok we had a few bumps along the way. First blue mangoes is alive but behind schedule. I reexamined the soil I used and found it to be miracle grow OUTDOOR organic potting soil. DO NOT BUY. It has no nutrients, no perlite and no way I'm using it again. No wonder it was on sale. I'm keeping on with her because of the extremely limited seeds I have but have already started to supplement her. Had 3 different beans for cross pollinating not pop. Going through my old stash and it seems like father time has taken it's toll. RVC and blueberry slushie did make it. Trying a few other old seeds to see if they make it. Got all the veggies in the ground.

About that father time thing you mentioned. Are the seeds you sent some that might struggle from age? Tropical Smoothie and Gammango. The cakes and scarlets are the only ones I've been privy to you propagating.

Sorry to hear about the throat cancer bud. I was out of work for almost 2 years because of the liver cancer. My immune system was so out of whack I was getting sick for just about anything. Hopefully things are getting better. I feel better. I hope you're doing better and the lack of smell/taste is temporary. Otherwise I'll give you some of the purple punch I grew doesn't have any taste to begin with but the effects are pretty good 😜

What is the lineage for the blue cake? The blue mangoes sounds interesting. Yooo...I might need some advice from you on how to do the breedy thingy. This grape caper from purple caper is a unicorn that I wanna keep around. IDK where to go from there.
So I reverse a clone and then keep the pollen, right? Take that pollen, put it on a grape caper to get seeds.
So I have that right?

I'm gonna eventually cross the grape Caper with the Uncle Grandpa that I love so much. I'm super curious what I'll get. Should be mighty powerful.

Update on the blue mangoes. Ended up digging as much of the shit soil out of the planter as I could without disturbing her roots and replaced it with compost. What a difference it made. I pulled the others as they were pathetic. So from here I'm going to just let her get a tad bigger and dust her with some mango smile pollen I saved. So her offspring will be (mango smile x blue cake)x mango smile. Popping a few new auto beans I made to see how they perform before doing a full on auto run come fall.
