HELP! Blotchy leaves in flower.

Hello all.

im having an issue with blotchy leaves. I’m in end of week 6 of flower and up until the 23Rd she was doing pretty good. Now the leaves are blotchy and some look to be twisting and dying. My question is: Do I have Nute burn or the opposite.? I’m using Medi One from green planet organic nutes in the 6th week. I feed every 3 days and give 4 litres of water mixed with feeding chert specs each tim. Up until 2 weeks ago when I started giving only 2 litres mixed with nutrients and 2 litres ph’d water. I did this because the solution is quite low on the ph scale when mixed at full strength. 5.8/5.9. I wanted to get the run off ph at about 6.5, which was achieved. I was noticing dark leaves around the buds and burnt tips indicating nitrogen toxicity. This is why I checked the run off and lowered the amount of nutes.

I think you have a couple problems here from what I've seen on your other thread.

1). Pro mix is not soil, you have a ph problem. The in Ph and out pH should be between 5.8 and 6.2.

2) you haven't mentioned calmag.

3) sound like you are under watering, you should have runoff each time you water, then let your pot dry out.

I can do 5.8 that’s is what my ph is at when I mix my solution.

Sorry cal mag is part of it. Just not listed on the chart. Again I’ve been backing this off because it was lowering the ph too low. Or so I thought.

I do have run off every time I water. 1.2 gallons every 3 days.

To me this is looking like a deficiency but from what you are saying about in and out pH, Ph lock-out is what I would suggest is causing the problem.

Have you flushed your plants with a larger amount of PH'ED water at one time?

I wanted to say phosphorus on you're last thread but held off to see what unfolded.

Phosphorus will become unavailable no matter how much you feed if your soilless medium is above 6.2ph

Okay. I think I know what my problem is. It was growing like gang busters then I noticed the little burnt tips and one rust spot. Long story short I adjusted the solution only giving half and the rest PhD water to raise the ph. My issue is I was going by optimal ‘soil’ ph of 6.5. If my ph is actually supposed to be 5.8-6.2 then I should have just continued the am feeding schedule on the chart with added pro cal.

This all makes sense because my plant always looked the best with ph in what I was previously considering to be dangerously low.

I will research later but how is pro mix not soil? I thought it was an organic soil mixture with peat and other things mixed in?

Thanks again. Yup phosphorus is the culprit. This poor thing.

Promix hp is mainly peat moss, perlite, with some other additives, and in my opinion is misleading been advertised as soil for cannibas. Promix isn't just made for cannabis but knows it has a big cannabis following and it is not ideally suited for the plants needs.

Soil for cannabis should never be watered to runoff, promix is mainly a drain to waste medium (runoff) for cannabis, do to this Promix needs liquid fertilizers pretty much from the get go, soil does not need liquid fertilizers till about 6 to 8 weeks if at all. Cannabis is a heavy feeder and promix does not contain enough base fertilizers.

I have yet to see a tutorial on Gwe.com with promix, but peat is listed as a soilless medium on there.

I gave her just over a gallon last night with full strength nutes which puts the ph at 5.8 in the feeding solution. The runoff was 6.28. Thanks you for helping me on this.

This is why I’ve had issues from the start. As soon as my plant became more than a seedling it showed problems with her leaves and had purple striating on the stem. I only gave water to her all the way thru the vegetative state. Only water. It wasn’t until she began to bud that I invested in some organic nutrients. She exploded when I gave her nutrients and now I know why. I thought I was
growing in organic soil This whole time and treating my ph levels as such. Your the first person (forum or face to face) to tell me otherwise. I’m guessing this plant could have been much more robust had I known this.

I will continue the recommended feeding schedule. One more full strength batch will get her down below 6.2. Thanks again for your help.
