Bloom Stretch??

Most of the strains I've run get flipped when they are about 12" above the lid.
They typically end up at 36-40" above the lid after flower stretch.

If you want to reduce stretch I accidentally did it by having the lights too low from inexperience the plants are smart they don’t want to get burned mine only grew vertically 6-8” that said it ended up being a really good thing that growth energy was transferred outward it doubled its footprint and I only had minor light damage on a couple leaves

Day number 12 of bloom, all plants are definitely girls. When are these things going to slow down, I feel like I am Jack and the beanstalk... Since this is my first grow, I have learned what to do and what not to do... Should I be defoliating the lower parts of the plants at this time?

Once they slow their growth it’s pretty safe to do more defol. Generally try to avoid it during the stretch.

It's great to see things are actually working correctly, buds have started. This is day 14 of bloom.

This is good that the stretch is almost done, I'll have to figure some creative way to raise my lights. They are at about 15 inches above the plants, but can get them another 12 to 14 inches higher if I have to...

SensiStarship (Sensi Star x Island Sweet Skunk) x Blueberry

This is day 16 of bloom, the plants were 13 inches when I flipped them and are now 23 inches. They have also started to produce buds. I really didn't expect them to grow this tall, this fast. If they continue at this pace I will have to some how raise my light. Tallest plant is only 16 inches from the light now... Still having fun with them though...

We used the outer inside frame bars to stretch the lamps holders they were long enough to attach with carbineers to the top side rails. It helped raise the lights by 2" yes some of my tops are right now 16" from lamp. Did you get what i'm saying?

Thanks SoOrbudgal, Yes I understand, I can get another 14 inches higher by tying the light to the top of tent from the rods that support the light... Will give it a few more days to see how much more they're going to grow before raising them... What is the best height above the plants?...

Look at them go!!! Wheeeeee!!! 👍

Correct light height is set by your plants. It’s better to err on the side of being a bit too far away. Keep an eye on the growth and watch for the plant to say if she needs the lights moved closer. If one single kola starts getting too close, it’s better to bend over that one, instead of raising the lights to the detriment of all the others.

This is day 20 of bloom. It doesn't look like the plants have slowed down their stretch yet, hopefully they will soon. Buds are starting to develop nicely and the leaves are still a dark shade of green. All girls for sure... Really getting crowded in the tent...

Day 24 of bloom. The tent is filling up fast but I do have a lot of bud sites starting to show nicely. Approximately how much longer do I have to go before I can expect them to be ready for harvest??? I think that it might be time to do a lot of defoliating???

Hard to give a prediction.
Most of the strains I've run take at least 8 weeks before I think about chopping them.
I wouldn't do any defoliation to them yet.
