im just finishing the last plant that had gnats on it
i need to fumigate the room as my autos are ready to go in inside a week
i dont want any more issues with bugs PITA
anyy sugestions
i was thinking javex in water and spray down the whole room
If your looking for a way to kill anything in the room hang a hot shot no pest strip and seal up the room for 24 hours or more u don’t want to breath that stuff. When time is up turn on exaust fan to remove fumes and store pest strip in a ziplock bag. I haven’t seen any bugs in years. Never,Never do this with weed in the room smoking that shit causes cancer.
Gnats lay their eggs in the growing medium. They live in the medium until they are grown enough to fly.
Remove adults with yellow stickey traps and use beneficial nematodes inside the medium to hunt out the juveniles.
If the infestation is really bad, some mosquitoe dunks in conjunction with all that should wipe out the population.
For cleaning I use organic cleaners in the room. And rubbing alcohol for those areas that get really dirty. H2o2 is also great for small surface cleaning.
Only problem with bleach is after all the water evaporates, there is a residue left behind.
I hear you can neutralize the residue with vinegar, if you don’t mind doing double the cleaning work.
Yeah it depends on The type of bleach. Normal chlorine bleach does not have that problem because chlorine evaporates very fast. Bleach containing hydrogen peroxide, sodium percarbonate and sodium perborate could leave residue. But at low concentrations is no issue.
Ok I’m flushing the last plant
it’s cold here now -20 ish to night
I’m thinking of putting the plant outside to kill all the gnats on it then I’ll bring it in and hang to dry
thoughts
-20?? Isn’t that too cold? Water inside cells freeze and break celular membrane. Does that mess up with the bud? I’m guessing drying will occur super fast after that, you tried it before? Does it cure after?
-20 will kill the plant... doesn’t matter if you are talking F or C. What are you talking F? I assume you mean +20 F, right?
+20C = +68F which is all good!! But +20F is too cold, below freezing is no good.
I’m going to chop it then put it in the drying room and seal it off I’ll put a filter on the exhaust and let them die
I’ll hold off on freezing it until I know more
Spread some D earth on the surface of the pots and let them die suckers die, as for the infected weed a bath with lemon juice and baking soda and water works well just like washing a outside grow before hanging to dry. Rest assured it does not harm the weed and is safe! 😎
