Best sativa strains?

I have smoked for years normally just buying what ever was locally available, normally that seems to be indicas. I love the trippy psychedelic high though, don't care for couch lock. I decided to grow my own to get the effects I want, so I'd like to know what strains you all recommend for the most psychodelic high, I need it to be friendly to a small indoor grow. Thanks
 
I have been growing AK-48 lately. It is a hybrid but like you, I was getting tired of being punched in the nose and taking naps in the middle of the afternoon! I really like the high of the AK-48, uplifting, cerebral and energized. Some call it a daytime high but I like going about my business with quite a nice buzz. Not good for bedtime... 😀
 
I too would rather be high than stoned. The problem I am running into is that the best of the sativa's seem to be very large tall plants, with very long flowering times. Plus, they seem more finicky to grow. I am not a good enough grower yet to give those a go, but I am not ruling it out for the future.
 
I am currently looking for a good sativa strain as well. Good timing DLZ. Please help us out. I have grown "Super Silver Haze" Which was butt kicking but not a plant for beginners. Very finicky. It hermied at the drop a hat. Always had to keep an eye on.

I don't know if I have ever had a true sativa, the grow I just finished was two girls from bag seed, they have sativa dominant appearance, don't know about the high yet. The other was an AK47 female swe'd that was given to me, it had 3 times the tricomes that the others had but I'm not impressed with the high....more of a stone.

I want to cob up and sweat cure some Zamaldelica for chewing to get an all-day near-psychedelic groove. It seems that the ACE Sativas are the one's the old heads say are the closest to the old-school landrace sativas from years gone by.

Don't take it personally, but we would not make good toking buddies. I do not like that feeling. I wish I did.
 
Like everyone else said, Sativa and Haze strains are generally what you're looking for if you're looking for a psychedelic mental effect. G13 Haze by Barney's Farm is known specifically for its long-lasting cerebral effects, and plants stay relatively short for a Sativa-dominant strain. It's really popular in dispensaries around here :)
 
Ghost train haze by rare dankness is a sativa that is sure to please. Never grown it myself, just bought it from a dispensary, but it had an intense high.
 
I don't know what your setup is but I just finished a really nice sativa grow a couple months ago. I too wanted the cerebral, white knuckle, adrenaline type of high. Not the watch cartoons and have a bowl of cereal. Don't get me wrong I like to get like that sometimes but everything has its time and place. Anyway they were Tall plants with big long colas everywhere. Took 14 weeks to flower (that's after a 2 week transition mind you) and was a finicky group of girls. 1 hermied I never had that happen before. Honestly the buds didn't look,smell, or taste as good as some of the other grows I have done, in me experience sativas tend to be not as dense and nicely shaped buds. Anyway the stone was absolutely amazing. Everything I was hoping for. I will grow this again even with the problems I had. The strain was called white lsd fem from msnl
 
I experienced the same as you DLZ, thats why I'm trying to grow my own now. Most of the stuff I would get here and there I'm sure were indicas. Every once in a while though I'd get some really great stuff that must have been a sativa. Usually get really social and talkative (great for me as i'm a bit introvertive) or just laugh my ass off so hard I get dehydrated from all the tears streaming down my face while laughing!
So, I took a shot in the dark with no research beforehand and bought Acapulco Gold fem seeds off a random site to see if they even will come in the mail. Was suprised they came and now I'm just trying not to mess up growing it
