Hey GWE,in addition to hurting your eyes and not being able to focus on what you're reading because of my smileys on most posts,i will be teaching you how to add One Click Input Smileys to your comments and/or posts!
Not for mobiles

Requirements :
  1. You need to use the Developer Edition of Firefox.
  2. If you are already using a standard Firefox version,your data will be Automatically Inserted when you run the Developer Edition.
  3. The add-on file provided here
Note: This is a hacked add-on,by that i mean it was made by someone else to do what im doing but doesn't have "our" smileys,provided by mozilla's official site for add-on and the only thing i have done is added the gif images with links!

Note 2: I take no responsibility for errors in your browser if you don't follow my instructions
Note 3: Feel free to parse the file through ANY virus check or even check the code itself if you know how to see im not trying to hack you.
Note 4: The only file i have touched in the *.xpi file is smileypage.xul .

Do not try re-sorting the images unless you know the basic structure of .xml files (Easy as 1+1)

Disclaimer : I will not provide updates and support unless my smoke takes me there

WYSIWYG : What You See Is What You Get
  • Download the Developer Edition for your platform. (MAC/Linux/Windows)
  • Install the downloaded executable and make it your default browser. (Most likely will prompt you for it,not always)
  • Make sure you have setup your Desktop so that this

    is the one you click to launch Firefox.
  • Download the *.xpi file and have it somewhere you can browse to.
  • Launch Firefox Dev Edition (No worries just making sure you got that) and in the address bar type about:config and press Enter.The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear. Click I accept the risk! to continue to the about:config page. About:Config Example .Once in that page search for xpinstall.signatures and double click it to set it to false (This stops Mozilla from looking up Signed Add-ons and will allow you to use unsigned Add-ons. See example below

  • Restart Firefox Dev Edition (Just kidding,im sure you got that) and Open the Add-ons Manger > (Alt + t > a) click on the gear icon (Tools for all Add-ons) > Install Add-on From File.. > browse to the add-on > double click the add-on (or select Open) > Install Now. See example below :

  • Once you have added the Add-on to Mozilla,you will be prompted to restart,do so!
  • On re-opening you will notice a small icon on the Top Right of Firefox :

alltatup this is is girl,i was worse when i asked you about windows or mac...Ffox is crossplatform even on android it would be possbile though i doubt the icon bar would fit in a screen besides a Galaxy Pad or something similar....
 
Nartak, you are a MAD GENIUS!!!!! I will read the instructions 10-15 times and see if I am able to follow them.
 
I got to the point where the smiley face was in the upper right hand corner, but they weren't mobile. This is just over my head, so I appreciate your efforts, but I will just have to stick with :-O
 
Hey wait what? Weren't mobile? you click them after you have pressed here on the input for post/comment!!!

But worry not,when i don't sleep AND don't smoke for longer than 24hrs magic things happen!!Lots and lots of small power cells start waking up and keep on boosting the system!! Here you go genius,never give up!

Shoot Nartak, now I really feel guilty cuz I tried twice. I'm on Safari which is my main browser. I have to have my job email on Firefox, so I have that also. I did what you said and got the other Firefox, and followed all the instructions.... F,,,,k it. I'll try again....
 
You got the smileys on safari? the normal (actual fox icon) ffox wont allow you to add hacked addon that havn't been signed by mozilla!Fingers crossed girl!!

Nope, Nartak, it didn't work. Plus it told me it wasn't secure for me to log onto GWE forum. Plus the emoticons that came up when I pressed the smiley face were...something else...little dots. It didn't work. I don't want to mess with it anymore because I really don't know enough about this technical aspect and I'm afraid of compromising the security on my mac..... It just wasn't meant to be.

Nartak, THANKS FOR ALL THE EFFORT YOU HAVE PUT INTO SHOWING US HOW TO DO THIS. I hope rowdy gets it... it just wasn't in the cards for me at this time...
 
Sorry i crashed last night tat,It's under tools or ctrl + shift + A (control should be the function key on mac? )
