Backbuilding buds

Potted

Guest
last two weeks of my autos I tried something different topping my buds, not much just some hairs and a little green it’s made my buds stop growing up and fill in and get fatter to the size of a water bottle. I left a few untouched for comparison and it does indeed increase diameter of bud just something to chew on. Lol😎

I never post pictures, don’t know how, this I pad I’m typing on is about the only piece of tech I have sorry

Been reading about this and it really peeked my interest I just had to give it a go. have any others tried this on GWE?

Never heard of it. You just take a snip off the top of the bud? This is last two weeks before harvest, pretty much flush time right?

I saw this in another thread. I found a link where people posted their before and after pics and I’m totally sold. I have two plants flowering just waiting for the right time to top. It makes so much sense. It’s just a topping in flowering. I’m going to post before and after pics. Tune in he link is in my signature :)

You can't take a pic with the ipad? There's a camera button in the upper left hand corner hit that and upload, super simple to post pics.

Does anyone know if this method is backed/confirmed by science? I’ll be doing research on the method and possibly integrating it into my current grow.

As far as I know it's still not proven science and there is the fact you're inhibiting growth in return for earlier ripining. You're basicly maturing the bud faster this way to my understanding. Buds will get fat on their own and I don't believe that this increases yields. Basicly you're stopping the bud from reaching full potential imo. You just stop it from growing vertical and producing new calyx for fatter nugs which can probably be achieved without the technique.

If it's scientifically proven I doubt we would be kept in the dark. There's not much info from my searches into this technique but I don't see the harm in people wanting to get fatter buds by doing so. So I'm leaning towards this being as controversial as defoliating.

Yeah its hard to find anything scientific, about alot of grow technics.
I did 3 of my buds, on my last harvest, all i did was remove not even a half inch, and they stopped growing up, but they sure got lots fatter,
I didn't start early enough though, because my plant turn amber, way to soon., I only did it for like a week, but I will be doing that trick from now on, and starting much sooner, than I did, especially if it looks like they are getting to tall. Sure worked ok for me, though. HappyGrowing all

In the end are you getting more weight? Or just fewer fatter buds? I just started my next run so it'll be awhile before I can try this, but it sounds cool.
