HELP! Autos in a smart pot

Having a hard time finding 42 or 40 watt cfls locally around here, was wondering if you could use the new kind of white kind of leds that are everywhere? If you can what watt and lumen would I need, or should I just get a regular led grow light ? I have only small space to work with, but plenty of time to tend it. THANKS for any or all the help . Peace

Considered a 150w hps? They work great on small spaces. I have a magnetic ballast mounted outside of the grow space to keep heat down. 24/7 computer fan for circulation. And a 4" 110v freezer fan for exhaust. Stays 70- 83 degrees

CFLs work great for small space grows as they generate relatively little heat and they don't need to be 12"+ from the canopy so you don't need that extra height in your grow space. Any higher wattage CFL bulb will work. I have a 28W, a 65W and a 95W CFL in my CFL space.

I haven't used HPS myself but I'm sure Speedygreen is right on if you have the height to grow out your plant and keep the light raised from the canopy.

CFLs can be as close as 2-3" which helps in tight spaces.

I don't think household LED bulbs will help much, they're just too low wattage.

Do you have space for 4' CFL tubes? Look for T5 & T8 high output.

I love my LED grow lights! I've tried several brands but the only one I can personally recommend is Advanced Platinum ... they're a bit pricey and you'll need a good 2'+ above your highest canopy to hang them.

Thanks for the replies. Just ordered cheap Galaxy hydro 300 and Kindsoil, already got FoxFarms Ocean an Smart Pots, waiting on seeds from Bonza, been over a week and they are still "awaiting shipment ", seems like I could have paddled a boat over there by now. Thanks, Peace

Good luck Hal, you're on your way (if seeds ever get to you)! 😉 BTW, I've been using Kind soil also, and just love the ease it gives me to grow great crops. It's so nice to just provide plain water!

I've got 2- Galaxy hydro 600w in a 4x4x6.6 tent. They seemed to have gotten the job done. As I improve my growing skills I think the Galaxy units will perform just fine. This was my first grow and the lights produced 100 grams of dried bud and 37 grams of dry ice hash. So, I have nothing bad to say about my 2- Galaxy Hydro 600w LED's.. That yield was for 2- Purple Kush plants. I just harvested 1- AK Full Auto- Royal Seeds and yielded 60 grams dried bud.
