The term Auto-Flower is derived from the genetic strain of Ruderalis, which is a European branch of the cannabis family that matures on a time schedule (auto) rather than a photo period like Sativa and Indica strains do. Currently the "auto-flower" strains we see are hybrids of photo/ruderalis offspring. Autos reproduce exactly the same as photo's and seeds will have a 50% chance of being female. Having feminized seeds is your only chance of getting female only plants. So, in my overly long winded explanation, if the seeds you purchase do not say "feminized" then you run the risk of having some male plants.
