Auto flowers are just fun

Hey OJH, I ain't no doctor, but it's got to be the cold weather, young plants know it aint the right time to be growing, even if it is warm inside, they got a sixth sense, kinda like LargemouthBass an Deer know to feed up ,when a storm's coming. I know that ain't right ,but that's what I believe. haha
Can't be that many bad seeds, can it ???
 
Hey Tat, they don't really have to have veg-time light all the time. Yes, they are thought to yield more with more light, but they will be fine if they go under flowering schedule with the rest of their cohort, and still be fun! She might be like a gifted student, who is kept in a class with normal kids of similar age because, administratively, you have to put them somewhere. She will look sort of like her cohort in size and appearance of age, but you will know that she's seeing the world a little differently.
 
I am not effected by the cold so much because I grow in hydro the water is always moving so it's all the same temp in there. Unlike soil the outside of the pot starts to get cold and it stays cold and starts to work its way in dirt is a poor conductor i think unlike water. I am just thinking out loud here. No science to back up my ramblings I have never grown anything on soil.

So you're saying they will get good buds on a 12/12 schedule? I thought that was verboten.
 
Not verboten, just sub-optimal for yield. But still fun! Heck, you got 6 holes in there, maybe try an auto version of whatever you grow next along side a photo, just to see what happens. You could do a taste test when it's done.
 
Shoot, I'm mostly getting sub-optimal results in the small box; I gotta figure out how to maximize its potential. I'm going to go from 5 plants to three and see if that gives me better results.
 
I believe every word of that Alltatup, we didn't see many skimpy plants during warmer weather.
They damn sure smarter than I am. Funny how when cows are standing up on your way deer hunting, the deer are up an moving too, same way you see the cows laying down, the deer are laying down too, unless someone spooked them.
 
SUPER AUTOS I have been reading about super autos and have found no convincing evidence this exsist. From what I can tell and I could be completely wrong super autos are just good breeding. From where we have come from the original lowrider from back in the day to what we have now is just good breeding.
under what ppl are calling super autos aka a big auto flower well bred stock.

my tangie shows all the signs of a super auto long veg huge plant much larger than any auto I have grow it has large fans like a well developed photo. But fastbuds says nothing super about it I don't know I just think it's a marketing ploy to make me think I am crazy.
 
What would you call optimal? weight or quality? I've seen your grows, I don't know what you mean by sub-optimal. If you want more weight, the only things you aren't giving them are enough time or space. Since your space is fixed, you are dealing with the time as skillfully as you can to fill your boxes like you do. And even your leaves fuck you up, I think your quality is fine too. Silly.
 
I'm with you, man. I tried some Dr. Shiva Super Autos last year, was supposed to get several meters high. Meh. It got to a real scraggly 2 or 3 feet high, pretty ugly. I didn't even bother to cut it down. It looked like shit. I had such high hopes. Maybe that was the one bum seed in the bag, and I should give them another chance, but now I have others that I would rather grow more.
 
DingusKhan Suboptimal means really small harvest not worth the time and money put into the grow. Which is why I will try another strategy. It's too frustrating to talk about right now.
 
I hear ya. I think it was urbz and DAAS and we're jawjacking on another thread about lights, and realized we had all, without intentional collusion, became a cohort of growers in almost identical stages. We started a little over a year ago, grown more plants than we've killed, even had similar small lights and tents.

Most interestingly, we are often helpful to noobs, but only because we're noobs who have come.to learn how much more there is to learn. And I think your one plant that you're worried that you over-defoliated is going to be a very positive step in increasing your yields.

You fit that same profile best, especially when it comes to resilience. I've learned a metric ton from you. Thanks.

The tangie is taking over my tent I am very surrised as to how much it is growing.

I have done my 8 day test and at the end I had plenty of fluid and my ph was at 5.9 down from 6.2 so that makes me excited I can now leave for 7 days and not have to touch my plants.
I added a pic of the roots from the cristal meth.

And I, Dingus, have learned a metric square mile from you, if such a thing is possible. Now D.A.A.S.69 is no noob. He's been growing since he was knee high to a grasshopper, which is decades ago.

Some of us need to participate in an ongoing dialogue on the Art of the Grow; noobs and old-oobs (????) alike. I would say I need it, or at least, I thrive on it. Others don't need the dialogue so much. But I remain skeptical about the increase in yield--especially with the Afghan Kush (front right on my CBD grow topic). I still believe that I will get less than optimal yield on that plant, according to pics on GWE that show growers who lollypopped too far up the stalk. Can I live with my mistake? Yes, absolutely. Am I bitterly disappointed in my wrong call? Yes, absolutely.

DingusKhan if you really want to make me feel better, optimistic, uplifted, you should send me a lb of top shelf.
 
I am doing my first auto grow... mixed feelings so far all 3 of them are 25 days old since germinated

I have this 1 sativa that is looking like a dud but it is still alive... then I have the 2 indicas that are looking ok

alltatup If I can crank a half-pound out of my little grow gher, I'm sharing it with you. I'm with you though, I feel like I can consistently get a plant to finish, and even enjoy it when it's cured. I've tried to avoid setting a benchmark for "justifiability". GrowBoss rants that one should expect to get a half-pound out of a 2x4 tent. I'm going to try to pull that off.

I'm absolutely in for such an ongoing dialogue, which is what I feel like I get from you guys every day. And sorry, DAAS. We've bs'd about so much, I lumped you into another thread. But you sir, are absolutely an inspiration. In fact I think it was you to have the last word to tip me over into ordering an LEC. It's going to take a week to get here.
