auto flower, first time

never did auto flower before have two strains Chocodope and Red Russian XXL. both with 7 - 8 week flowering range. is a 18/6 or a 20/4 cycle good for whole life of plant? also i read that it doesnt need complete darkness at night. wont effect the outcome? any other things that i need to know about, just using 300 watt LED light. have more is one enough?? any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello, I am finining off some auto's right now and kept a 18-6 schedule the whole time. In hindsight I will probably cut it back to more like 12-12 late in flower stage as to cut down on heat and light stress which are my problem. I grew mine with a 300 watt led in small grow box. Grew Tangerine dream and Critical Purple. Good Luck!

,I keep my autos under 24 hour light until they start to flower...then I throw them outside and let them get sunlight during the day and then garage at night. I have read you can do a 12/12 on them, but from the ones I have grown, I think they grow bigger under the 24 hour light... Check out my post of "wtf have I got now" this is my wierd auto that I am only using a cheap ass 50 w led puck light wrapped in a towel until I put it in a larger pot and put in my tent...and this plant is only 18 days old.

thanks for the info, i'm using a Maxisun 300 W LED light . Should be similar . how many inches away from plants were you?

any fans used just 24 hr light to start till flowering. outside ,then in direct sunlight? any nutrients and when in tent how far away from plants. normal 16 - 20 inches with a 300 w LED or would you go with a 150 W HPS light?

I have a 350 w led in my tent, and yes I use a small 6 inch clip fan to blow on the plants, as well as a 6 inch intake fan bringing in cool air from the room, and it's vented outside through a dryer vent installed in the window. I use fox farms nutes at about 1\4 strength than what they recommend. I also do 1\3 Coco, 1\3 perlite and 1\3 fox farms happy frog soil. I don't really have a measurement for the light away from the plants in the tent because I kinda watch the leaves and you can tell if the light is too close... And yes, definitely outdoors in the sun!! Sorry I don't know much about the HPS Light, I started with CFL and then bought my Led... My tent is big enough I could run 2 lights in it, but my setup has been working very well for me so far.

They are fun to grow... I think at least. They are a little more forgiving than I originally had read too. What's really cool is when they start their stretch, you can literally watch em grow over night.

I'm pretty sure that's what I have for a tent...2x4x5 I can stagger 4 5 gallon pots in it...but I usually only do 2 at a time
