atu grow six: POG (pond of green)

MedMan!!! I am so glad you're ok!!! Where did you go? I'll bet it was nuts. It's hitting here today--well, not Irma, but the winds and rain.

Hey ATU and everyone too . we stayed not big damage but lost screens and just finished hospital stay too . So bald starms are gone , hospital stay is gone and forum is back up .

MedMan WOO HOO!!! Lots of good news from you!!! So glad your property was ok, so glad you done with the fkn hospital!!! Now on to the next grow!!!

Hey ATU I'm actually trying to make an order through seedsman for some seeds and might try a few autos this time around also ordered a new light . Vipraspectra 450 with dimmable lights to help with seedlings. The last few have really been stretching even when I had the light on top of them . Hope you get through the storms OK up there .

MedMan Why do you want dimmable lights if the seedlings are stretching too much? Cuz they're stronger?

At this point, as a stealth-box grower, I only order strains with "medium" or short height: I am making sure that the sativa genetics aren't going to make it a super-stretchy plant. After the previous sativa grow, and growing in grow boxes, I don't want that experience again of the plant out-growing the box. Not the most fun.

I grew two of these strains in this box before--the Black Domina (left front) and the WW (in the rear)--, and both have stretched much more this time. The Diamond Cookies (in the middle) is a sativa-esque snake that I had to do some serious tying down on, and the only one behaving herself is the common-sense, CBD-rich Cannatonic on the right in front. I think the other four are going to outgrow the box. These have been much more vigorous growers than the first batch in this box; somehow, I stunted the first batch, and they stayed short.

I was contemplating them the other day and wondering whether I could perform a stemectomy, and cut away a section of the stem and connect the top growth to the shorter bottom, but it sounds too frankenstein-ish for me to try. They may just grow straight into the carbon filter and light; I don't know what I'll do... Perform the horrific stemectomy...

I'm coming to the conclusion that the micro-grow I was hoping for needs to be with clones that are put directly into flower when put in the box. But I don't have a clone set-up so I'ma have to figure out how to exploit this little box to its best advantage. It would probably be very good for training some bushy indica-dominant strain, but I get such a kick out of growing various strains at the same time, I don't know if I could limit myself to one plant in there. What a waste of fun!!!!
