When I read about how and why iconic strains were created I keep noticing the phrase bred to a male. As in...

I keep reading ‘bred to a ___ male’

Would the strain have been Extremely similar if the genders were reversed?

Then, so you have one male, 3 females, then what? Interbred them?

I dont understand.

“Bred to a __ male” just means they crossed ___ female with __ male. It’s a fancy way of telling you who the male plant was in the selective breeding process. That’s all.
