at what age can i put my plant under a 600hps light

what age can take my plants away from my cfl light set up in wardroom and put it in my tent which has a 600hps light set up (there is a few 6 week old plants already in the tent) its a all autos i am growing
 
Im pretty sure its whenever you just need to keep it adjusted at the right height for the light your useing lol
 
Which will be tricky with the different ages plants.. might want to invest in seperate lights if your going to do multiple staged grows
 
Technically yes what type of cfl are you using? But if it's not a strong one your plants needs may rapidly become more then the cfl can produce.. if your 6 plants are near done might not be a problem but if you have awhile to go might be a problem.. you said your doing autos? You could possibly use the same light if you put the younger plants on a higher plant form and lower as needed
 
Hi jak387. You can actually use HPS from seed to bud. HPS produces enough of a light spectrum to support growth at all states of life. However, it is best to let your plant vegetate under a bluer spectrum of light which is why a lot of growers use MH or CFL (Daylight spectrum) bulbs. In my grow, for example, I have both a MH and a HPS 600W bulb for my system. During the vegetative stage, I am using only the MH light bulb due to the light spectrum. I am giving my plants a 1-month vegetative state. I will be switching over to HPS on Monday, which would be the start of week 5 of my grow from seed. I only chose to use the MH because it gives better results. So with that in mind, you could use HPS whenever you want and not harm the plant. I hope this didn't confuse you more. ;)
 
Once my seeds break the surface they get put straight under a 600W HPS for the whole grow
 
Just to clarify I wasn't saying you couldn't use it I was just saying that because you have plants that are 6 weeks already the light needs to be higher up.. probably to high for the new seedlings.. a simple remedy though is to raise the seedlings up to the desired hieght and then lower them as they grow
 
thanks for all the answers guy sound like stick them in the tent and rise them up what distance should they be from the light roughly is it just as long you can keep your hand above them without been too hot
 
its 200 wtt cfl i have it was a 250 broke the bulb moving it one day and the strongest the store had was a 200 fucking raged lol my plants prob need 4-6 more weeks am guessing before there done
 
The cfls are a bit tricky but if your using hps it should be as long as you can put your hand just above the plant palm facing up and not feel to much heat.. that's how I measure it.. there's also a devise that can tell you exactly how hot and how much light at what level your getting but I'm cheap lol
