Are Vaping Dregs Useful?

I read somewhere, I think in this forum, that the dregs from vaping can be reprocessed into something useful like hash, tincture or edibles. Is this true? Has anyone here done this?

Weed in a dry herb vaporizer is decarbed to the temperature at which it was vaped. Anything over, say, 240° will make your vaped weed edible. Although the vaped weed is not as good for edibles as oven decarbed. And just like oven decarbed weed, the higher the temperature, the more canna- degradation.
The juice in vape pens is edible as it comes. The process to make the juice can be well over 400°.
I've always wanted to know how to clean pipe/bong/dab rig resin/reclaim so it's not so nasty.

If I use it along with weed and scrap to make hash, do you feel it would be alright or will the ash come into the product?

Well, I'm not sure about making hash from vaped. It is more for edibles and tinctures. Here's what I've gathered. I don't quite understand. My experience is dabbing vaped that had been evaporated after QWISOing.
When we decarb in the oven, we are only converting THC-A into THC. We are not vaporizing it. The decarbed weed is then processed into whatever extraction is wanted. The trichomes are still there and have not been destroyed by the higher heat of vaporization or combustion.
When we vape weed in a vaporizer, temperatures run higher than oven decarbing. Same-same with pipe resin and reclaim. But they will still get you high. If you haven't tried, vaped weed in a bowl will still get you high.
If you try to make hash, you'll get ash since the ash is probably finer than the trichomes. If you evaporated a filtered ethanol wash, it will get rid of some/most of the ash.
Fiiiinally... if you have ash in what you are vaping, you are not vaping. You are combusting and I'd probably not use it for anything. But that's me.

I have wondered about this also. I have weighed the flower pre and post vape and found a reduction in weight of 15-20%. This amount is about what would be expected as the THC concentration. Just as any process, nothing is 100% efficient. There might be a little something left in there. It comes down to how hard do you want to "scrape the bowl" and is the small quantity you get worth the recovery effort?

You can put the vaped bud directly onto pizza or chuck it into a bolognaise sauce or anything really. It works but you need a fair bit of it.

The end of the world is always precariously nigh, OMG. Having a good supply of dope will help you survive the big one just like those folks who didn't catch covid by stocking thousands of rolls of toilet paper.
Just don't lose your lighter.

I can relate OMG. Inventory is stocked, yet the miser in me wants to use every last scrap. I'm trying to change my ways of saving everything.

A buddy gave me around a gallon of it. i water washed it several times, then did an extraction with ISO, and got around 100 g of very nice very solid oil. to use in edibles, even though it is decarbd - I then bake/decarb again to do a pretty thorough purge. Great stuff. But after doing it - I say the same as Oldmangrower said above - Why did i bother? But - if you needed it..... In my youth it would have been - fu...ck!

I’ve found that saving the leftovers can actually be really handy. You can use them for edibles or even tea, depending on how much potency is left. If you’re looking for more options for your setup, you could check vapes online for something that might make the process easier.
