Are my plants ready to harvest

Hello, was hoping somebody can help me. This is my first grow, and I want to make sure I do not Harvest too soon. This is an Afghani plant, and a San Fernando Valley OG Kush plant. Both Indica strains. The Afghani is an Autoflower. They have both been planted for about 10 weeks.

Howdy gags71 the following link is second best way to figure out your harvest time.
The best way is experience. Check the link. Take your own pictures. Keep some sort of journal. Journaling includes great bud porn like your're showing. Get the aforementioned jeweler's loupe. I prefer, as close as I can get, to 10% clear, 10% amber, 80% cloudy. Maybe more amber. You'll be customizing your own experiences in future grows.
One of your buds is bigger than my entire first grow. Your plants are showing great signs with the yellowing leaves. Your plants are showing super fantastic signs with the purpling of the leaves. Your buds are sucking up all the remaining nutrients and junk from the leaves. Get ready for autumn. Autumn also requires good bud porn. Really, there isn't not a good occasion for bud porn.

I do have a jewelers loupe. The Afghani looks ready close up, and as you can see, the leaves are very yellow. But I an a novice. SFV OG KUSH looks close to me as well. Maybe these pics are better? Thanks for any help..

You might find you harvest two plants of the same strain on different days. Even doing a staged harvest where you trim colas/buds on the same plant at different times.

Thanks for the positivity. I am actually surprised how big Afghani is. Just very anxious to harvest, as my wife is a medical patient in ILLINOIS. It just went completely legal here, but the state did not allow growers to increase production. Now there is nothing for anybody, and my wife is hurting. So you can see why I want to harvest, but I don't want to be stupid.

Hello and welcome to the GWE forum. With the loupe on the bud are the trichs clear or cloudy? Is the OG a auto also? Yes yellow leaves are good sign of plant focuses on making buds and using it's plant recourses. Now if their real bushy those bottom buds may not be ripe? I see orange stigmas but not curled in and I see whites sticking up. I would give it another 7days no nutes just water. Allow them to dry out really good almost droopy check trichs every day. My 2cents.

The San Fernando Valley OG is not Autoflower. I did not realize when I bought seeds the difference between Autoflower and regular. So Afghani probably would be done already because she's in Autoflower. But I had to switch to 12/12.

Ohhhh OK i'm going to be in the same boat here soon. How long has the auto been at 12/12? That reg. plant is looking like it's been into flower how long? I have autos but only 2wks in flower and I've got 3 very long vegged fem. photo plants in with them. I'm giving the autos 3 more wks of 18/6 then flip to 12/12. How do the trichomes look under the loupe?

Okay this was not easy, and my hands were shaking a lot so it's hard to see. Maybe if some pros can zoom in, and give me an idea of what they think? Thanks again for all the super fast comments. I need to make edibles for my wife as soon as possible as this wonderful state of Illinois, has nothing in stock 20200129_183213_HDR.jpg20200129_183403_HDR.jpg20200129_183318_HDR.jpg20200129_183320_HDR.jpg

If I harvest only a portion of the plant, won't that kill it off? Especially if I take the top Cola off first?

Gosh, no. You could defoliate your whole plant down to one little stem and it would grow like nothing happened. Search the GWE website for things like defoliation and training. What gets removed from the plant is dead the minute it is removed. What stays on the plant will continue to thrive and provide great bud porn.
Although, your plants look great. Whatever you're doing works. Only change if you have the time, space, weed, and unbridled curiosity.
