Anthonyfromspace's first grow - 4*2 ft SCROG

Hey guys,
Anthonyfromspace here, located in Europe where things are still barely legal :p
So we have a kitchen first grow in a 55m² appartment.

Setup :
Secret Jardin R4 Wide 120*60cm (4*2ft)
MarsHydro reflector 144
Winflex TTSilent
Prima Klima carb filter
Passive fan intraction
Cheap clips fan without removed grid
DIY oscillating fan
15L (4Gal) final pots

Soil & fertilizers :
Biobizz all mix + fertilizers

DINAFEM Strains (beginner’s choice :p) :
2x Critical + 2.0 by
1x Industrial plant aka northern Lights

I wanted to keep everything inside, discret & SILENT, because my wife was not much really happy with my new adventure :p !

Germinating :
Inside a cup of water until they drop down, then wet paper method.
48/72h later transplanted them with the taproots in germinating pots.
48/72 later again, magic ! sprouting ! -> 18-19 of february
Not much issues for this phase unless I was excited like a little boy just before Christmas.

Seedling :
Not much issues also, unless the biobizz allmix is a bit aggressive for seedlings, I noticed they were really dark at the beginning and I think they were a bit full of nitrogen.
Of course, my waterings are always phed domestic water at 6.5.
A bit difficult to wait for waterings though haha.

Vegetative :
Here we are 18-20 days after the sprout.
I think everything is nice and healthy for now.
Did top them just few hours before, i trained some leaves down with hairpins !

MEDIAS :

Now going for skiing during 1 big week, time for them to recover from the beheading ! A friend of mine will come for the watering and to take care of them !
See you later.

Cheers guys

Hey growers,

I am now in vacation and I think the garden is recovering from their topping, tomorrow my friend will come for watering and nursing.

I was browsing the internet about some improvements I could do :

Definately Going for 5 Gal smart pot instead of my plastic ones...

About lighting, I'd like to have an almost perfect spectrum and I was wondering if adding an HPS 150 to the Mars hydro setup I got there would be a good idea.

Some people will tell me, "dude it's your first grow, u already spent 1k$ its OK."
But I'm not that kind of guy and I like to push things to be almost perfect.
And yes I already spent a lot but if I can add an extra 100$ to get at least 10%+ of quality and/or dry yield I will rush in it.

In addition I saw the temperature sometimes running a bit cool which forced me to add an additional heater to the place. The hps without cooltube would be a solution.
And my extraction is way enough (450m3 by hour)

Waiting for your considerations on my thinking process.
Cheers
Anthony

Welcome to GWE anthonyfromspace, your at the right place to show your girls and get answers to any questions you may have. Seems like you have an amazing start for your new found hobby. Enjoy your vacation and enjoy your grow experience! Good luck! Good Growing !!

I would wait till after the first grow and make a list of your true needs so as not to waist money on things you thought you needed now but made no difference in your grow or finish. Jus sayin. Good Growing !!

What progress has been made since my first grow back in 1971? In the age of vacuum tubes, and Ma bell I used back yard dirt, and a coffee can for a planter. Just tryin to grow some bag seed, but got paranoid and shredded my plant beyond recognition. Trying to guess which country you are in. The best of luck to your cluttered kitchen. I hope it becomes more filled up.

Bulk Catsup tin cans and Mother Nature! Those were the days. LOL. Hey, maybe we went to school together. LOL

Thanks guys.
I'll try to do my best.
You should be alright Colombo, I'll try to wait the second grow, but I found some really interesting watt-dimmable led bar stuff (Mars Sp150) in order to get a real optimized setup as far as I can't add a veg room in my flat.
But yeah that's greedy.

starramus The country is the one who helped a lot in America's freedom and has some kind of trouble these years.

Marquis de Lafayette! Pour vous servir !

PS : add some pictures from my friend.
Recovering from toping well it seems.

Where are you from?
Les gilets jaunes was at the beginning of something like a tea party, libertarian and anti taxes.
But then socialists and communists came. Now it's BS.

Hi anthony stardust, I know how you feel: if what I spend to fine tune my grow room according to what the weather outside is doing makes my harvest much better, I will do it. So I discovered along the way that I needed reservoir chillers, a dehumidifier, a humidifier and a space heater for the grow room. I figure, either do it right or why bother?

Hey !

Came back some days ago from skiing !
Lots of news for you guys for that month of veg phase.

Was at home the 20th of march, had to defoliate a little because the plants were really bushy, especially for both of the criticals + 2.0
Went for some low stress training, broke a top (lol) but managed to repair it (yay).

Topped again the industrial plant because it was taking too much lead on both others, did not want it to take 50% of the space, seems it worked.

Transplanted yesterday in the 5gal pots and i did setup the scrog net.
Now let's wait few days to go 12/12 !!!

Love you all !

Try adjusting the lights till the leaves are reaching for the light and maintain that distance from the canopy. I'am also in flower at 15"-18" canopy to light 2 300w LEDs as per the manufacture and the results fantastic. The leaves were the ticket reaching for the light !
